Hello Demobasers

Some time last night, someone hacked Abu's account and was posting links on the shoutbox & a couple topics to a virus.

He posted links about "battlescape" & "amexclient2.1.exe" on multiple topics, including the popular "FOXDy USING AMEX 2.1" topic.

He also pm'd 9 people, I have contacted each of those people to tell them not to click any link from him.

I have removed all the links I could find on the shoutbox, pm's & topics.


If you already clicked a link from abu which either downloaded an .exe or ran in a java applet then please at least scan your PC with a good anti-virus or format your PC. Personally, I would format my PC.

Run ComboFix, it will most likely fix it.
But I do encourage formatting your computer to be 100% safe.. some people have lost money over this so far, so it's a serious situation.

i even pm'd 9 people, banned abus account & spent like an hour trying to figure out where ipb saved pm's so I could search for a couple keywords

One can't foresee that some loser kid hijacks a joke and turns it into a virus to spread around.

This is probably the same kid who made that RPM trojan. He just takes the big discussions we have and uses them as a way to hack people.

He could have used any excuse, it just so happened that this fake client was a convenient way for him to try & infect more people.

There was a .exe link and a seemingly normal website link. The website link just opened a java applet which is already enough to infect your computer(if you are running an older java).

There was a .exe link and a seemingly normal website link. The website link just opened a java applet which is already enough to infect your computer(if you are running an older java).

You are supposed to click yes/no to run java applet everytime you do it from new source, no? cmon lol downloading exes and accepting java shit to be loaded when you are looking for one pk3 file?

There is a huge difference between shifty accepting some random pk3 file and shifty testing the pk3 file to make sure there are no forms of hacks on it and then accepting it.

I'm kinda insulted I never got a PM from abu
