I see the version 4.2 on the website. about the stand alone version of sof I posted the idea about a year ago and I found the sof2 source code on ze internet or what I thought was the source code because I have no clue about how that works. But we have some people in this community who could actually contribute in such a project..

Doubt people will contribute to such a project in this community. That's sort of an alternate reality you're living in there. I doubt shifty has time/incentive to do this because I'm sure he's making money whereas nobody in sof2 would throw money at him to do such a thing. Same thing with max, since he's a greedy bastard. Doubt XILLAX will invest time into this as he's probably dealing with school, and I doubt most other people have the capabilities of handling it without those.
We could always enlist in the help of a game developer, but that requires funds. I don't see this realistically going anywhere in the next few years due to the solid evidence of how this community acts.
Personally, I think people don't want change. They want activity, but nobody wants to actually play to make it more active. So really it's just a bunch of pointless ideas that will never go anywhere.

Wow, I installed this game 1 week ago and now you're talking about it! I'm playing Urban Terror nowadays and I think it's awesome. I like the activity of Urban Terror as well as the gameplay. Coming from SOF, it is easier to get into the 'feeling' of playing Urban Terror, since the engine is the same, I guess.

The engine is not the same. And you, coming from SOF, when you've really been playing public sof2 for the past year or two with on and off mixwarring and one or two month long stints in a clan/team. Do not think you were ever really addicted to sof like most. Valid opinion. This is why many forums limit join date restrictions.

What the? LOL forgy, how can you argue my 'feeling'? I 'feel' it's very adaptable for me, because of my SOF2 experience. Addicted or not doesn't matter.
Coming back to Urban Terror, this game has a lot of pro's as well. Didn't even notice until I browsed through youtube and their forum. 5 days ago they announced 3 cups will be held. And 2 weeks back a progressive level designer and modeler, MajkiFajki, joined their development team. It's all looking very bright tbh.
I'm not saying you guys should stop playing sof, but azzy has, sadly but truthfully , some valid points in his posts.

But honestly, I do believe that your opinion holds less weight if you have been here for less time. You can't have a March 2011 join date and expect to have the same opinion as the people who were here before 07 (Before Demobase migrated). That's all I mean. You see it in many forums (d2jsp, probably even urban terror forums). Regardless, it's your opinion and have at it, I just don't see your opinion as very valid.
I hope you all get to try Urban Terror out and if you enjoy it more than SoF2, I hope you have fun participating in their communities and cups. I would just like to say from a sof enthusiasts point of view, that the game is a LOT different than SoF and a lot of words in this thread are exaggerated to the fullest extent of trying to get people to quit SoF2 and that's fine, everyone's entitled to their opinion. I personally won't miss many of you.

I can argue your feeling because I am a bitter old fart who is also kinda sick atm and just being a pain in everyone's arse.

You're getting a bit emotional at the end there, relax man.
It's not that people can only play 1 game. A bit of a variety is good. And I truly think azzy doesn't have the intention to let everybody dump sof and play urbanterror. I see his actions are more in the form of suggestions/variety; you're eating chocolate cake, but have you tasted this flavour as well? you know you can eat both in 1 day?
You just have to see things in a different spotlight, cause now you're blinded with 'everyone and everything is against sof2', which is really stupid, cause we all love playing this game.

Yes, I do get a bit emotional because I spend time and effort in organizing shit that everyone seems to overlook, but that's fine. You're right that emotions don't belong in sof. Love for the game doesn't belong at all, just move on to the next big thing right? Sof2 is the best FPS I have ever played, and yes I am emotional about it. I don't even think 1.6 is better.
By that logic, you all should go play CS:GO. Flair, please stop trying to argue with me because really, I'm beginning to realize you have no idea what you're talking about and you live in the moment without a thought of the past or the future. But I don't blame you. It's the past that you were never a part of because you have only played sof2 for one+ year and the future that you are blind to see or exaggerating that people will work to create a new sof2 just because you ask them nicely.

I like it a lot because it is fastpaced, really fastpaced.. and it is something different than most FPS out there. Anyways, I didn't really make this topic to compare with sof (although I did in my main post to explain the similarities etc)..
You either like it or you hate it, but I think the people behind Urban Terror are doing a great job, it is a very different game.

difference between passion/love for the game and controlling your emotions way to rationalize your behavior. your comment about living in the present is pretty hilarious as switching the community to a new game is pretty forward thinking and living in the past or even looking to the past for anything but not repeating the same mistakes is retardedNo, it's obvious that you don't love playing the game because you are all so eager to jump on the idea of not playing your cupwars in the three to four active cups that we have right now and play public in Urban Terror and the three active cups they made "yesterday" with the active 12 year olds on the game.

As if on queue, a wild Foxdie shows up to take my words completely out of context because he is addicted to me. No big deal really. I serve cock on Tuesday evening, be there or be square.
