ive recently changed comps n got windows8 so mad compatability problems i guess. anyway sof is all retarded cant load any of configs or make the gfx look half decent at all, its a good laptop so idk why its doin this. its all pixely n i see shadows where there arent. anyway tried my old tricks n nothins worked

i cant even take a screen of how retarded it looks it just gets corrupted

Windows 8 is a joke, worst OS system by microsoft since they have published Windows 2000. Had it for 2 hours then went back to windows 7

i tried compatability modes and all that, restarting, trying to tweak my comps gfx but sof still looks the same

heres a pic its shitty cuz its my phone but i hope you get the idea, it looks like when your sof cfg crashes and reverts back to a default sof2mp.cfg, but only worse than that

but the game will only run from "sof2mp.exe" but crashes when I try to run the game thru "SofIIMpTest.exe". the game also crashes when I try to run it with the fairplay exe

its not windows 8, never had problems with it except for rpm but max kinda fixed that, try running sof with rmp and when it asks for default injection just press no

ok i followed yoru advice katana. so i was able to start the game, with fairplay (default injenction no). but when i tried to load a good and high quality cfg, the game's graphics still look retarded pixelly with shitty edges and all sorts of other crap. then the game crashed...

picmip and other commands dont actually change anything.. dafuqs goin on guyz

A lot of times the default video drivers that come with your machine will not have OpenGL enabled, if you go to your video card manufacturer's website, (usually ATI or Nvidia) you will be able to find up to date drivers that will turn on OpenGL

The second thing is the new switchable graphics options on newer gaming laptops. Apparently some that are set to "dynamic" mode will turn off OpenGL. If you set the laptop to "fixed" mode, OpenGL support should return.

Probably the easiest thing to do is try googling your computer's name and OpenGL together. Getting OpenGL working tends to be a common desire for a lot of people and there should be a lot of content about ways to do so.

This could be the solution for your problem I think. And as katana said, it has nothing to do with windows 8 but with your drivers and settings!

so i tried to find opengl stuff for my driver but theres nowhere for me to enable or disable a fixed mode vs a dynamic mode. i tried allocating more resources to the program that sorta worked but not really

it still looks like shit no matter what i do lol so fuck it maybe sof just cant be played on this computer

And if it shouldnt work than look for open GL fixes for windows 8 and such! alot of people have troubles with playing older games who use openGL (minecraft players, cs players, etc)

ye i fixed the driver problem, its not really a fixed mode but its about allocating more resources and allowing it to write changes. the amd control panels a little weird
