I had an annoying FPS Drop problem for a long time in SOF2. Now that I fixed it, I wanna make a little guide and give you a few tips.
If you have sucky hardware then I'm not sure if this will work, it's only for people who have good hardware but can't get the maximum from it.
So here we go. First of all, if you have a low fps, try to make your graphics lower. I've seen rocket made a nice topic about it:

Note: I suggest you delete your config and make a new one. Start from zero cause if you try to change the old one, there might be some settings you forget to change.
Furthermore, use all commands that can increase FPS. here is a great list of the commands I suggest you all use, it really helps:
r_picmip 4 snaps 30 r_lodbias 5 r_fastsky 1 r_subdivisions 999 cl_maxpackets 30 com_hunkMegs 251Maybe I forgot some but that's enough.
If it still doesn't work, try to reinstall SOF2 in another drive (low chance it will help but who knows, it's worth trying).
Moreover, there are some spyware that can make you lag in online games. I use these software to remove spyware

In addition, sometimes the drivers you use make the game lag.
First, try to install the newest drivers, download them from the i-net. Say you have geforce, go download your drivers from nvidia.com - ati.amd.com for radeons. You can also try the beta version, it helps sometimes. If the newest drivers don't work, try the old orginal drivers, because sometimes new drivers have bugs, and are set for new computers.
You should use Driver Sweeper (or Driver Cleaner Pro) to remove your drivers before you install new ones, otherwise it might not work so well.
Another thing you can do is updating your CPU drivers (AMD/Intel) cause new dualcore processors have some bugs, I found it out here in a topic Nastaroth made:

If you can't download updates cause your Windows is a fake, search on google "Windows.Genuine.Advantage.Validation.v1.8.32.0.CRACKED", and it will let you download updates from Microsoft (100% workin).
Lack of fans can be a reason for FPS drop too, make sure you have enough fans in your PC and that it doesn't get too hot, it might be the reason your sof2 lags.
The last thing I will mention is CLEANING YOUR COMPUTER.
I personally passed this way and tried what's written above, and nothing helped. Try to clean your computer especially the graphic card fan (if you have one), and it should work, it solved my problem.
