Our beloved game and forum isn't so active anymore but it still pops in my mind every now and then so thought I'd drop by to wish everyone a very happy new year! It's good to see that there are still some clans playing clanwars every now and then and maybe max could give us a new years present by releasing RPM, hehe.

 

I think it's kinda unique that a demo game is still being played 12 years after the release date so I guess we could be proud on ourselves to keep it alive for over a decade now!

 

Anyways we (the admins&mods) wish you all the best for 2014, have a good party at new years eve and don't forget to watch with all the fireworks (this is for all the crazy dutchies out there)!

Hello everyone,
 

 

I've decided to re-open my dm cup of last year to give our little game some extra activity.

 

The rules will be the same as last year meaning that the first matches will be played on mp_hos1. I have no idea yet if it's going to be with a group phase like last year or a smaller structure that depends on the amount of players.

 

I don't plan on playing in the cup since I barely played sof2 this year but if we are 1 player short to have a nice amount of players then I'll play of course.

 

Bottom line:  sof2 demo DM CUP on maps, 1st only, pickupsdisabled, fairplay is a must

 

If any guys from full are up for a challenge then you guys are more than welcome

Hello Demobasers,

 

As you probably know, Demobase got flagged as dangerous by Google. This was because we were running a super old version of IPB and there was some malicious code there which occasionally redirected people to a website (which wasn't dangerous, but COULD have been. Luckily the guy just wanted lots of hits for ad cash).

 

I have removed that code, and we upgraded the version of our forum to the newest one. I have sent in a request for Google to review the website and hopefully it will come back clean again.

 

Unfortunatly the old theme doesn't support the new version(which is basically why we never upgraded) and as such we have this new black/grey one instead - although the old theme is still there, it is buggy. If you want to see how the old theme looks on this new version, go to the bottom left and click on "Change Theme".

 

For now we will stick with this theme called "Memory", but if anyone finds a better one just post it here and we'll look into it. Perhaps if a few good ones are posted we can carry out a poll to find the communities favourite theme.

Dear Demobase users,

I'll have to inform you about a really tragic incident.

Joonas "|she| Haapis" Haapajärvi died on 1st March 2013 due to intracranial hemorrhage in the age of 22.

We've lost a honorable |she| member, a great old player, not to mention, my best friend.

His funeral will be held on 22nd March in our hometown, and I hope we'll all give our respect for his shortly ended life and support for his family.

A little side note:
I have decided not to run the voting for the sof2full awards because only 2 or 3 people actually nominated someone so it's obvious that this game has very little to none interest in these awards.
