What phone should I get. Getting one for free. Can choose between NOKIA E71 , Blackberry Curve 8520 , Nokia 5800 XpressMusic , Samsung i5500 Black or Samsung B7330
Nokia 5800 XpressMusic looks the best by far imo, but I'm a keyboard hater, which is why those other phones don't qualify

You should read the specs and reviews and see what suits your own needs best.
A friend in the army had a nervous breakdown over the 5800XM, it crashed all the time and kept losing the memory card and yadda yad. I've heard similar bad experiences about it, but also good ones with people seeing it as the best phone Nokia's made. Who knows.
I can give the thumbs up for e71 especially for the keyboard and durable build (during the past few months I threw it on the floor just for fun pretty much all the time), but it's a business model and it shows. The transreflective screen is a big plus in the summer (it's very readable in direct sunlight), dunno how common those are in phones these days.

e71 isn't quite of a music phone, i'd go for curve if you want multimedia (3.5mm audio jack + music keys on top)Gonna choose soon between the nokia E71 and the Blackberry Curve 8520: It will depend on how good they are to watch movies and listening to songs.
e71 is more business phone (good for emails, wifi, easy to use,...)

The E71 seems superior in almost every aspect if you look at the specs.

For music you can buy a 2.5->3.5mm adapter, just a couple of euros and it's not in the way (nokia's own model is "bent" 90 degrees). I've listened to tens of hours of music and for casual use the E71 is more than enough. Sound quality's decent, though there's noise in the background especially with the adapter. Somehow I doubt the 8520 will do much better with music anyway.
As for movies... seems like the Blackberry supports h.264 but uhh do you really need that in a 320x240 screen? It's not that much trouble to convert videos to your phone plus you'll likely need to do it no matter what.
Youtube plays just fine, especially with the youtube application but it filters out some videos. Oh and 65k (opposed to 16 million in the E71) colours in the 8520 won't be adding to the video experience either.
If you ever want to use your phone as a modem or for casual surfing, Nokia's got 3G and BB doesn't. For me that alone would be a deciding factor but uhh I dunno if it's common to browse the web with your phone in Belgium.
Zeh Curve has a faster processor, sure, but somehow I doubt it'll be much of an advantage over the E71.
Finally Blackberry OS versus s60 3rd edition is something I can't even comment on - I've never used a Blackberry. The finely aged s60 does it what it needs to do, all I can say to that. But for all I know the BB OS could be a hundred times better

For listening to music, the blackberry is great. The screen isn't that big, so watching movies can be a bit annoying.
