or was London a test of how windows could fit into the rest of i3d network?!?!

In london was a PROMO indeed (free gameservers) all those gameservers were running on Windows only.

Most of our gameservers such as the COD servers and Source games are running on Linux (and sof2 1.00)
Since DEMO doesn't have a linux version, we're running it on Windows of course

We're EA"s official partner; games such as Bad Company 2, Battlefield Heroes are only running on Windows

You could obviously still host Windows applications on Linux servers using virtualization (such as WINE), no-one would notice as it merely takes more resources (SoF2 Demo anyway).

Correct, i'm running the demo version in combination with wine on my own dedicated server as well.
Allthough we will be using Windows to be sure everything works correctly with our control panel.

seems to me like such a large company should have an automated system for auto setup on paypal/creditcard then there would be no requirement to check each payment like they have to do with bank transfer(which they kind of force you to use)

Not sure if it's indeed i3D, the server looks pretty legit though as it's running the latest BETA etc, and is indeed hosted in Israel. Maybe Wirdo can answer this one better.

Yeah, I noticed only 3 month+ paying cycle excludes these administration costs. If you add these additional fees the offer is still pretty sweet, cheaper than 2k3 and with a lot more support options (telephone included) and of course the usage of their superior network!

Actually edit: as wirdo said in his starter post:

Setup costs €6,50 will be charged only in the first month, all months after that you only pay the normal monthly fee (€10 or €15)

I think they might exclude these costs from you anyway. Would be good to contact Wirdo or i3D on this one.

NO, the server has NOTHING to do with i3D.net
Liron gave me the login details from a company he worked for a long time ago (webgame.co.il) and i installed an sof2 server on it for you guys.
Feel free to ask admin to an hss member.
