Like some of you may know, when you are running Vista, sof won't let you change gamma value if you got r_overbrighbits 1. Because of that, for example roof looks very dark and you can hardly see the enemies running behind boxes. Luckily theres a solution and you can make your sof look as bright as you want, in every single spot. This might be old trick for some people but I'll share it anyway.

Heres the view with r_overbrightbits 1 and no gamma changing.



And what you have to do to increase the brightness level with r_overbrightbits 1;

Right click your sof2mp.exe -> Properties -> Compatibility

Something like this should come up (texts are in finnish but you should get the point);



Choose Windows XP to a compatibility mode and put 'x' to all the settings except the first one and click OK.

Then just open your sof again and you can change your gamma with overbrightbits on, enjoy the bright view.

this reminds me of kj's cfg, idk wtf he did but he had best shadows and view everywhere, i had it on my old comp but lost when formatted xD -,-

It works with fp. I had to do the same with sof2fp.exe so try it.
