all seems logical, but take into consideration that there's only ONE person working on fp compared to other anticheats that usually come with the game etc.just a quick update -- had to re-install my OS after screwing up my whole xserver and/or gnome installation (not sure which) messing with my dual monitors .
pleased to report that steps i took to make fp functional still work on a bare bones install of ubuntu jaunty 9.04
still with same fp guidjust waiting for modules to be approved.
I hope that when/if modules are accepted it will work as desired and put an end to this stigma of linux users in games being accused just because developers don't make their ant-cheat cross platform.
Not that I am pointing the finger at anyone here @ demobase or any other anti cheat software developer for that matter, anyone that makes anti-cheat software is only trying to make the online gaming community better which I 100% agree with, but i just wish that sometimes us humble linux users would be considered when it come to developing these software(s).
!! WE JUST WANT TO BE LOVED LIKE YOU !!
lol
all joking aside , linux gaming is an under estimated portion of the industry and anyone who could successfully make 'native' working anti-cheat progs for all platforms (yes including mac's) would take a major step forward in the fight against cheaters.
Never forget Linux is free and (in my opinion) far superior to windows (dont know about mac's , never owned one) for everyday tasks, the only exception is gaming as Microsoft have a monopoly on the directX software which (I have read) they actually subsidize game developers to use their directX software.
