Hello,
I've been trying to solve this shit problem for ages, every solution I tried didn't work and this the "Sof2mp.exe stopped working" crash still happening.
I tried to run sof2 with old drivers, not working, tried new drivers not working, the extention limit guide not working, reinstalled twice notworking, played with compatibily options notworking, downloaded other installer for sof2 which must be good (maybe 1st was bad) installed and not working.

Just for the record, I used to play sof2 on this computer even when windows 7.
One day problems came and now i'm stuck.

nvidia Geforce 9600GT
latest drivers installed.
SOF2 GOLD, not demo.

What can I do??
I wanna play sof2 with my bud stavzOr, the fucker got sof2 working :o

Perhaps there is traces of the previous installed SOF still in your registry. You should try to uninstall sof, delete all the files in the SOF directory. Then open up the registry editor (Regedit) and do a search for parts of file names like "soldier" "sof2" "double helix" "activision" "gold", stuff like this and if it finds anything then delete it. And keep searching until no results are found. Then try reinstalling.

What Operating System are you using?

And did you try to run SoF II MP Test or Full already?
See if you got the same problem there.

Windows 7 32bit.
Sof2 mp test is also not working.....
Maybe I should download older drivers than the older I tried before?

Instead of downloading older drivers try downloading the latest. The problem is fixed in 258.xx/260.xx.

I had latest drivers and it didn't work. Having them now btw after fail attempt on old drivers.
Resinstall windows is a bit of a problem for me, I would rather not play sof2 than touch format and computer settings I dont understand shit about it i will ruin everything.

I'll install Windows 7 x86 virtually when I've got time and review your problem - if it is indeed just the x86 version of Windows 7.
