Climate Change

I'd think this would be a nice point of discussion:
What are your opinions on 'Climate Change' and what do you think we should do about it?

It's a tricky topic; climatologists don't generally agree on the effects it will have, other than it would be better if we don't reduce emission
of the greenhouse gasses because largely unknown negative consequences may occur(ie to what extent it will raise global temperature.

Proof of this please. This is quite the bold statement, since the increase of emission of greenhouse gasses seems to have a great effect on global warming. The homun effect on the global warming is so little, just don't care to much about it.
Climate change is normal and imminent, but it might be that we're speeding it up really hard. This is still debatable and being debatet about.
Still i really think that emission reduces have to be made. I'm currently writing an essay on 'Carbon Capture and Storage, CCS) being used as an way to 'reduce emission into the atmosphere'.
I don't really believe in it though, not in the way we are going to be using it right now.
Any other opinions on CCS ?

I heard about it after the movie/documentary of all gordon.
It was like 99% are gasses from the earth himself and 1% are because of the human.

The atmosphere might just be that sensitive. The amount of greenhouse gasses in the atmosphere is very small, like 0,001% I believe.
Yet it COULD BE that the increase to 0,0011 % might have such a noticeable impact. Who shall say.

True, but ofc its all changing the son is getting older and is still getting bigger/warmer.
yea but we have like 4-5 billion yrs before that happens

We have like 4-5 billion years till it is @ his top.
The son is always growing.
And get bigger explosions...
Ice is smelting and it releases gasses that where iced for like billion years.

Yeah the timescale we are talking about with climate change is way shorter than the sun warming up. That's way too gradual for us too notice so fast
no noob, sun is in "stable" phase and will be until hydrogen in the core runs out(billions of yrs) it's not in that sense gradual

The sun is never real stable.
But true stable fase is correct (:
But the son is growing and like you says about the billions years then the son is @ his top and then after that is gone.

But that's mostly because of dmgs to satellites and power grid not temp variations.

yes. greenhouse gas is natural process. problem is we are making it 'bigger'Ill shall check for some proof.
I heard about it after the movie/documentary of all gordon.

No sun will start significantly grow when it's out of hydrogen and starts fusing heavier elements, before that more relevant thing to us are Sun activity cycles.
But that's mostly because of dmgs to satellites and power grid not temp variations.
Not true: the son is like a clock it started @ 6 o clock and every hour it getting bigger and warmer. and @ 00:00 it reaches his top and then its gone.
(only its not 1 hour but 1 billion years).
yes. greenhouse gas is natural process. problem is we are making it 'bigger'
Yes but the 0,00001% we are doing is not a problem.
But other professors says it is a problem so idk.
And every western country want more power and its better for us to get diesel out of water then buy it from Russia.
(not sure if you get what i mean :$)

It's not? I'm sorry, we're throwing millions of years of fuel into the atmosfere in not even 1000 years. That's off-balance and i'm pretty sure it has some effect, at least. Not true: the son is like a clock it started @ 6 o clock and every hour it getting bigger and warmer. and @ 00:00 it reaches his top and then its gone.

And i'd love to see some text about the suns growth as well. I see both of you won't agree : D

Cause country's like china are getting bigger and stronger?
hhh true but I saw it @ discovery channel and I'm not in the mood right now to look it up :$
So it will take some time. soz.

But global warming is now a fact and we cannot stop it kuz its already gone too far. All we can do now is to make the effects less harmful. There are different scenarios modelled, but nothing points towards radically lowered co2 emissions. Want statistics? Oh ill give you statistics!
The problem imo was overpopulation. Note that i speak in past tense
But i think these actionscenarios are widely overwxagerrated, because its a problem which will progress which takes many decades. We will have time to adapt and no1 will get very sudden surprises (except for the current situation in Queensland atm wtf
Edit Lols i'm on iphone sittin in a staircase on a train so my language aint cool

I don't know dude recently I read International Energy Outlook 2010 for my thesis and it estimated CO2 emissions will increase by 50% till 2035.
So yea it will progress in a sense it's most likely to get worse in near future
