Hi,

A lot of people are making grammar mistakes and a lot of people are getting annoyed by it. Here's the solution, I guess.

THE DEMOBASE GRAMMAR SCHOOL
Chapter 1: Difference between Your and You're

Your
your car, your house, your sister, your pussycat
your car is YOURS, your house is YOURS. (Something you posses)

You're (you are)
you're crazy, you're hilarious, you're a biatch
Should be self-explanatory.

Chapter 2: Difference between To and Too
To
are you going to the party tonight?
hello? i'm saying this to you.

Too
did you see that troll too?
we should have a demobase mathematics school too

Hi,

A lot of people are making grammar mistakes and a lot of people are getting annoyed by it.

Radical also mentioned it to me last time.
Of course good english is what we all wish, but sometimes you are typing fast and don't want to use the complete words or the correct grammar.
Anyway you people are getting annoyed by it?
I'll tell you what is annoying for me as well then:

- People posting in the wrong sections, you posted this in General Talk of Sof2, but this topic is valid for the whole Demobase Community, so it belongs here. But also other people keep posting in the wrong sections
- Talking your own language on Demobase where it's not allowed
- Renaming topics to more clear names
- Reading messages from people who think moderators can change their username here meanwhile only admins can do this

I can go on, but you ever hear me whining about it?
We ain't perfect, so you can forget about this whole grammar part.
Go watch BBC if you want to hear perfect english, but we are a community with some people together from many countries, so don't expect it.

Personally, I love to learn and it doesn't matter in which field. People are more on demobase than they are watching BBC or other educative programmes. Therefore it seems quite obvious they will view this topic earlier than they are gonna watch or educate themselves. I know, It's not demobase purpose to educate people, but that's why I already said... don't take it too seriously.

I'm studying responsive content, user experience and usability by the way and this stage is perfect for me to find and try things out. ;P

By the way, I don't find the reason "We ain't perfect" very reasonable in this case. Yes, we aren't perfect, but should we stay dumb nevertheless? Or take some action and actually DO something. (aka Grammar School ;D)

@ BladHark, that's your opinion. I just think people are retarded when they don't know the difference between you and you're... aaaand other simple stuff which any person, who can speak or read moderate English, can master within 1 minute. Heeeence, this topic. People can appreciate the effort or dislike the 'tone' I'm/we are setting (basically saying: go back to school).

Anyways, thinking about others is quite out of the obvious nowadays. So hereby I say: stay in your stupidity and good luck in the future (job, etc.)

ps: I was hoping we could start a QA, kinda in a fun way. But that doesn't seem realisable now. Haha.
