I'll bring this subject as in sport perspective. There is school, work, life etc motivation. Let's talk about sport motivation.

What motivates you? Your family, your coach, team mates, people who gives you recognition, perhaps a friend? Goals?

What or who motivates you to push out the last repetition? Last 100m run?



For me, i am always motivated by setting goals that are challenging and determination to achieve those goals.

What comes to bodybuilding. Posing, big guns n abs on a video motivated me at the beginning. (Youtube bodybuilding motivation vids). Now, i don't have to watch the videos to get motivation. Bodybuilding for me is already a way of life at the moment. I don't drink or smoke. I do not overlook those who do it, really. It's their choice. I'm not the one who can judge, noone can't. I am not bragging, that bodybuilding is way 4 life!11 Everything else sucks and it's wrong!11 U'll get healthy by doing sports yeah!!11 No, it's not right or wrong. You can do what you want with your life. You choose your destiny and set your own goals. Getting drunk is fucking awesome, and makes me feel good. But so does lifting dumbells.

Bodybuilding, i say bodybuilding, since i don't give a shit about "Weight lifting". Weight lifting is different than bodybuilding. I am happy to do clean 120kg squat reps with proper form than using bad form with 140kg and snapping shit up. I don't watch what other people lifts. It's all about yourself, and setting your own goals.


I'll post some videos which, i'll guarantee you. Motivates you. In any aspect of life.

For sure in tennis, if i miss a type of shot a lot i could train it for hours the next week. Or physical training cuz i know it gives me the advantage in matches etc
Or just for the good feeling you have afterwards when you pushed yourself and then thinking 'that was a good training'

What motivates me I guess is when I look at myself and look to other bodybulders or ripped guys I think what they can I can do too!! So nothing is impossible! Also I want to be different than standard pps with tiny arms/body. :P

My motivation mainly came from losing weight at first, but now i just workout because of the feeling it gives me. I started to love exercise.

That being said, i never felt the need to lift or do any form of 'bodybuilding'. It feels way too unnatural to me.

I kinda agree with Muse, motivation(positive) often comes from earlier success, you like things you are good at and you are good at the things you like, in every field.
So if by working out you feel good, or you achieve something in sport you keep doing that. that's my theory :S

Feeling something like a warrior motivates me. I just have to stay on top of my game, which includes strength, condition and technique. Knowing that you're stronger than most people, that you won't get tired and that you could win most regular people in a fight is a way to feel awesome. That fire inside of you grows, and you want to keep it burning thats why you keep training. :)

I want to be better than my teammates and friends, that's why they motivate me. you have to be better than yourself right now, else you'll become a pussy.

Paraphrase of someone: Don't be scared of getting hurt right now, later you'll be old and weak anyway
