Status Update

We are currently standing at 49 registered players with 6 captains volunteered.

This is a good number, but we'd like a little more distribution. At this rate, we can have 8 teams with 6 members on each team with one team having a 7th. If we reach 56 players, we can have 8 teams with 7 players per team. That's only 7 more people needed to register!

We also need two more captains to volunteer, ideally (AT LEAST, if more volunteer, we can have a better option to choose better captains). If we actually are patient enough to wait for 64 players to register, we can have a solid tournament with teams of 8 players. Let your active friends know that there is a mixteam cup going on and see if they will sign up!

Feel free to discuss in this topic. The player pool is updated and will be used as reference during the draft.

Ah, the words of a pessimist. The reason why we strive for getting more than 40 players (8 teams of 5 each) is so we can counter inactives. It is entirely up to YOU to play your matches.

With teams of 8 players, it should be easier to gather 5 online at the same time. We will give each team it's own thread later when they are created so teams can share information with each other and organize matches and times to play.

Currently at 50 players with 6 captains. I've noticed the slow of registration, so the benchmark for the tournament to begin will be 56 players with 8 captains, making 8 teams with 7 players per team.

Need 2 more captains to volunteer and 6 more players to register. Deadline will be Sunday.

it is a good idea to use this thread to cross off chosen players during the draft to make it easier for captains to see who has been chosen and who is available

We are now sitting at 61 registered players. I am very glad to see a good turnout and the full community willing to participate in a demo cup. Congrats at growing a sack.

Anyway, I'm gonna let it ride for a little longer. If we get 3 more registrations, we can have 8 teams with 8 players each. Tell your friends.

If you are going to be inactive, you will be picked anyway. But in the first post of the player pool, those who have said they will be a little more inactive than others have a note next to their names and this should be taken into account when captains choose their teams.

I will set a date for a draft ASAP, but I want to give tonight time for two things:

1.) We need 2 more captains to volunteer. If nobody volunteers by the end of the night, two people will be chosen randomly. If more than two people volunteer, they will be hand picked (aka Acer will be scrapped

)

2.) We need 3 more registrations for an even cup. Otherwise 3 teams will be missing a player. Tell your friends.

Thus, with the coming trends, I can safely say the tournament will be in the following format:

Two groups of Four Teams. Play everyone once. Top two teams advance, semis + finals + bronze final. If anyone opposes and has a better idea, feel free to speak up or hold your nuts.

Let's get this thing started. I still need 2 more captain volunteers AT LEAST.

I might bug some people this evening and see if they are willing to captain. I will give it until this evening for two brave people to step up. Remember, if you're the captain who chose the dream team, you shall receive a bountiful reward at the end of the tournament (if you're the winner, of course).

Along with that incentive, it'd be nice for once if the community gave a damn about a cup.

We shall set a date tomorrow after I have a chance to discuss the best time with all captains.
