Anyone else picking it up? I was huge into 1.6 at a time and am pre-ordering with some old school friends.

Please press your CAPSLOCK button once. It is not a "local game". I have no idea what the fuck a local game actually is. I assume you mean that you can't play with people across countries and that becomes "local" and the answer is that you're an idiot. You can play with anyone you want over the internet.

Played cs:go beta , didn't like it much . I'll just stick to source
Any insight? How is it different than source?
I for one never liked Source because I played years of 1.6 and always felt like Source had no recoil. It pissed me off because they changed gameplay so much. I feel like I'm more open to new things now though.

the way it looks right now doesnt make me even want to touch it, judgin by all the vids ive seen it has absolutely zero "cs feeling" 1.6 and source have. probably still gonna try it whenever the open beta is launched (i think it was the end of this month? not 100% sure)

I'm definetley buying it. I'm a massive fan of the Counter-Strike series and I still play Source and 1.6 every now and then.
Yeah I agree with the above posters, it dosen't really have a "CS feel" but I'm still going to buy it and play it simply because it's Counter-Strike and I'd like to have a go at it.

The reason it doesn't have previous "CS" (as if this isn't named CS) feel is because they are trying to make it more realistic which is developing into a different game play of same genre. So you either deal with it or GTFO k?

the old NiP with heaton & co was a 1.6 team that disbanded about 5(?) years ago. this new one is a CSGO team that consists of 3 1.6 players (forest, get_right, xizt) and 2 source players (fifflaren, friberg).what's nip ? the clan with heaton etc ?

I just remember a video of a guy in a BIG tournament match on 1.6 I think he was in NiP the guy was alone or smtg against all terrorist And they all passed next to him and he went to defuse. Then one of them came back to take a weapon and he saw him. This was an historic cs moment I don't know how I know that since I didn't even play that a lot. I guess a friend showed that to me back then

So I gave it a shot and honestly, the game has some cool things about it. It's a newer FPS of today's gen I guess, but I dunno.
I just can't shake my old feel for 1.6, to me no game compares really. And CS:GO is basically like a Source Redux and I can't really get into it because I hated Source like some shit. All in all, I might play this the same amount I play TF2. lol Maybe I just can't get into it competitively like I used to.
