Remakes gives you good POV on hook-ups, drumloops etc other artists use.. this learns you alot.
Wouldnt recommend any tutorials on the internet to ANYONE! Create your own way of learning and this makes you creative to the end.
But come on, IF YOU REMAKE A BEAT, DONT REMAKE SOULJA BOY. HIS BEATS ARE THE WORST BASIC BEATS OFF ALL..
Goodluck in the future

where's the creativity in that? if u actually start fresh, u gain more knowledge
if u do it the hard way, step by step, u'll actually learn something and it will stick with you..
remaking is just an easy tutorial where you dont gain personal skill or creativity...
u just learn some drum/sound loops by stealing it from other artists

Now for this Soulja boy beat (i assume soulja boy tell 'm or kiss me thru the phone) to remake it is easy duh, remakes aint that hard, can take alot of time though.. but if you remake it you will see for yourself like yeah, that's how they flipped the chorus and i can do that in a totally different way in a different beat i will make myself.. You'll learn a damn lot..
Beatmaking has nothing to do wich program/hardware you use.. so watching tutorials aint giving you any skill
So comparing tutorials for specific programs and remake a beat and its process to whats learning you the most my answer is Remaking beats.
Atleast give the guy some positive feedback instead of just saying "i recommend tutorials if you're a beginner" its music, not some silly video-game.
Making beats HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH a program to make it with, so therefore gaining skills from the 'oh so famous be a quick pro beatcreator' tutorials all over youtube for FL, LP, Reason and Cubase are bullshit.. "Making good music is all in the soul and mind" Expand your mind with all kind of influences from artists and influences from life and your beats will grow.. That's it. well, playing the keys decent and knowing some music theory comes in handy,,
bless and goodluck in the future with music what gives you so much fun in life (y)

what i ment with tutorials is how to work the software, know where the buttons are etc
from there you just make ur own shit, cause i think you learn more
and u ''upgarde'' ur skill more efficiently instead of copying some cat
here i just made this one: http://www.myspace.com/m3mob3ats it owns!!

Producers know what kind of sound they want.. Give me any program and i will get my idea i have to make it sound the way i want. So remaking a beat expands your POV on producing music.. A tutorial only reduces it
Dont get me wrong.. Tutorials are handy.. ofcourse you should know a bit about the program if you dont have a clue first look.
But after a while you dont need that no more because you know every word for every function which all software its the same, only sounds different

There is no 'ctrl' button on fastcolts computer. Fastcolt is always in control.
anyways, even though I'm not a pokerwhore like fastcolt, that's what I do the most also, betting small to check what others do
but in this situation, fastcolt > me, listening to him is like asking a crackjunk how to use crack, u can trust it

You should try things first and then talk about it.
( Even timbaland remade some of J.Dilla's beats because he wanted to know how he did the drums

remaking beats IS a tutorial cause you learn where to put the notes in the right place! skillssss!!
you cant gain skill by remaking other peoples beats.. (only on how things work like i said 5 times)
if so, give me some examples

To make a beat you should know how youre program works a little and you should have a idea.
I dont know where to give examples.. I do know that remaking beats is a great way to learn and flip a new style. Also this guy is doing much better in making beats then you are, also much more motivated so isnt your answer already there? Yes it is.. next time you are clicking the sof2mp.exe click the cubase.exe or fl.exe w/e you using and try to remake something
