thats why i decided to make a small tutorial for making simple sof2 clips with using only couple of programs.
lets get started anyway..
useful cmd's for making a sof2movie wrote by doctorfunk
1) first thing u gotta do is to capture the clip/clips u want from ur demo file (dm.2001 files at sof2demo/mp/demos). there are two easiest ways to do the capturing so i'll introduce both of them.
a) by using cl_avidemo 30 (more work, better quality)
- open the demo (demo x to console) u want to capture the clip from
- fast forward the demo till the round when ur action takes place (timescale x)
- whenever u want to start the clip, enter "cl_avidemo 30" to console (30 is the framerate) and cl_avidemo 0 when u want to finish the clip
- cl_avidemo makes a screenshot sequence to ur sof2demo/mp/screenshots folder WITHOUT ingame sounds
b) by using fraps (less work, simple to do)
- download and install fraps (either full version or trial, i can't share links for full version but u can google it urself)
- open fraps and change some settings, heres a screenshot of my capturing settings;

- open the demo (demo x to console) u want to capture the clip from
- fast forward the demo till the round when ur action takes place (timescale x)
- whenever u want to start the clip, press ur fraps hotkey (for capturing video) and press it again when u want to finish the clip
- now u have an avi file with big filesize and good quality WITH ingame sounds (if u checked the 'record sound' part, its ur choice)
2) now u have ur clip as a screenshot sequence or an avi file, next thing to do is to compress ur file(s). easiest way to do that is to use virtualdub
3) install virtualdub and open it.
4) because there are two ways to capture ur video, there are also two ways to import the clip to virtualdub.
a) if u captured with cl_avidemo 30
- select all the screenshots u took (sof2demo/mp/screenshots) and drag them manually to virtualdub timeline
b) if u captured with fraps
- file -> open video file -> choose the avi file u captured
5) now u have the clip on the virtualdub timeline, now lets check couple settings before compressing.
- video -> frame rate -> change frame rate to (fps) -> set it to 30 and convert to fps -> set it to 30
- video -> filters -> add... -> resize, heres a screenshot of my resolution settings for a youtube HD video;

- u can also try to play around with other filters (for example colour settings etc.)
6) clip is basically done, now its time to compress the file, theres a list of the codecs u have at video -> compression
7) u cant say which is the best codec so i'll just take an example from my own settings.
- download ffdshow codecpack and install it (also the vdub addon/plugin when its asked during the installing process)
- ffdshow should now show up at video -> compression
- choose ffdshow and press configure, heres a screenshot of my ffdshow settings for a youtube HD video;

- compression settings are done, apply the settings and close the compression windows by pressing ok
8) save the file by choosing file -> save as avi...
9) now u have a compressed avi file taken from ur demo and it can be uploaded to youtube with HD quality!
enjoy
ps. can be stickied if u mods think so, havent slept for 40 hours so there may be some mistakes
