might aswell edit the old topic but its full of text already so ill open a new one.. just gonna explain how to get a nice quality/size ratio very easily. not to mention this saves u from all the annoying codec-stuff. (if u wanna do it other way, check http://www.demobase....howtopic=11643)

all u need to download is this little program called easy h264 (http://h264.tweevo.com/)

when u got ur clip frapsed it will be huge and its useless to start uploading just because it will take ages, now what u have to do is;

1) open easy h264, it should look like this



2) select ur video file (the one captured with fraps)

3) select where u wanna save the new clip (output file)

4) select the same video fps u captured ur clip with (if youre not sure about ur fps, check it from fraps settings)

5) for the encoding preset i recommend using the Extreme HD 720p, gives the best quality/filesize ratio

6) hit "start encoding" and wait until its done


ps. i also recommend capturing @ 1280x720 so u wont get any black borders

But how can you ever combine them in to 1? With Sony Vegas it isn't possible..;p

how u mean combining, like putting many clips together? ofc its possible with sony vegas

just put the clips together on vegas, save as uncompressed .avi and use the same easy h264 program

If you put all the fraps pieces in sonyvegas, render it and after that you use h264, the quality is a bit worser then when you put 1 fraps piece immediatly in h264..

obviously since you render same shit twice, just make final render in sony

if you plan to to put it on youtube spark
you can render huge 1gb even 2gb file and it's okay you don't have to uber-compress it
and if you render it make the resolution 1440x1080 it wont take any more space but will improve
quality on youtube

depends though. i used the first option for highest HD compared to HD Big and it made absolutely no difference still 720p on youtube

coz u took some gay preset i presume, check what is the resolution if you have the 1440x1080 yt
uploads it as higher HD anyway diff between higher and lower hd is marginal.

i tried this out and here are some more tips in order to put and play the compressed file in sony vegas you apparently need quiktime player 7.6.1 or lower (i think thats the version just check google) but its so laggy when i want to watch it or edit something, while with virtual dub i have ~20% better performance with playback in sony vegas, when it compresses though the gamma goes a little lower so i suggest you put gamma 0.4 higher or so to achieve the same brightness! other then thats its a good compresser but i still suggest virtualdub cuz it compresses twice as fast with basicly the same quality if u put the bitrate in fleims other tutorial to 5000 or more!

BUT SOMEONE SHOULD MAKE A NICE TUTORIAL ON HOW TO RENDER IN SONY VEGAS!!!! FLEIM? DOC? o0

????? uncompressed avi = no loss in image quality. What you're saying doesn't make sense in my opinion.

Render in vegas to..?
If you want uncompressed avi, you either use the preset in vegas like I do OR lagariths..

Sony Vegas -> FRAGS CLIPS ON TIMELINE -> Render uncompressed avi(let's ignore any fx lets just say he didnt change ANYTHING not even add transitions) -> h264 quality VS Fraps clip directly to h264 quality

Anyway I assumed he compressed it in Vegas and then in H264, otherwise it would make no sense
that quality would be worse.

IF you use compression with quality loss its obvious it will look worse after few compressions isnt it Rocket?
