i'm not an anime fanatic but i've watched a couple series in my life

my favorites:

Code Geass (absolutely amazing)
Death Note (too bad it ended at so fast)
Cowboy Bebop (this was short too )

iv'e watched/watch others as well:

fullmetal alchemist (both of them, currently watching brotherhood - it's nice)
bleach and naruto (they are alright, not outstanding)
gantz (it was really good and graphic, but just ended, wtf :< )

that's all i think

but anyways, i was wondering if you guys would help me find some series to watch, cause i don't really know any (or post your favorites) and explain it a littles so i know what to expect

Hajime no Ippo - boxing, amazing anime in my opinion. A must-see.
Major - baseball, another awesome sports anime.
Devil May Cry - a short anime, I think you might know the games?
Great Teacher Onizuka - about a former motorcycling gang member who becomes a teacher and get's confronted with all sorts of problems by his students. No outstanding graphics but has an awesome story.
FLCL / FoolyCooly/ Fuli Kuli - Not very well known but I loved it.
HSD Kenichi - Martial Arts anime, pretty awesome!
Overdrive - yet another great sports anime, it's about cycling.. I didn't expect much of it but I was surprised by how good it was.
Sengoku Basara - anime about the era of Warring Countries. There's a game of this as well. I enjoyed watching the few episodes it has.


I'd advice you to check a few MAL [My Anime List] that were posted. Try checking how well or bad people rated the animes.

If you like Cowboy Bebop I recommend watching a series called Trigun. There is also another series I recommend called Neon Genesis Evangelion; its a more serious anime considered by many to be the greatest anime of all time. Also, if you havn't seen the movie Akira I would suggest checking that out as well.

No offense but they have barely anything in common except for the fact that Tokuchi Toua uses his mind rather than his muscles.
But yea Mer is still right, you should definitely watch this first. It'll give you a decent impression on what sports anime are about without deviating too much from the kinds of animes you have seen so far.
