0$ to 500$ attempt by january '10

For a start I will attempt to go through the struggle of going from as much as 0$ to 500$ by the start/end of january '10.
I have not yet decided wich poker platform to use, anyone knows any platforms with some good cash freerolls?
I would prefer direct cash freerolls and no satellite tournaments.
I will also try to update my struggle in this topic through statistics.
So what I'm asking from you guys to begin with is a poker platform where I can play a nice immediate cash freeroll,
since I'm not into any platforms outside of pokerstars.
Thnx.

Taking prop bets on this one?
so in one month, ull go from 0 to 500?
if u take prop bets, what odds are you giving?

anyways, even though I'm not a pokerwhore like fastcolt, that's what I do the most also, betting small to check what others do
but in this situation, fastcolt > me, listening to him is like asking a crackjunk how to use crack, u can trust it

I went all-in. only 1 other guy called me (out of 3) and had A3 so it was really looking good, until he hit a set of 3's on the next 2 cards.
So I went Helmuth style cuz I don't know why he called my all-in with A3 having nothing on the table.
Anyways, too bad my play was on point and I will play again tomorrow or in the weekend.

its freeroll, people who are broke play it, hence, they arent good players , hence, unpredictable, hence need more luck then at actual stakes
i mean its strange already that he didnt fold A 3 to a preflop raise , its so EASILY dominated
and synchron you know i love you :$ i dont try to make money off of you xD
but i just think its very unlikely/impossible to make 0 to 500 in 1 month UNLESS you risk your entire bankroll, (for example u win 10$ inf reeroll, u go all in with 10$ at cashgame, you got 20 now, etc)
but if you apply bank roll management i think its impossible, if you win 2$ ull have to play 2NL probably, one bad beat, and your back to square one....
if you look at how chris ferguson did something like this
it took him 3 years to go from 0 to 10.000 lol and going from 500 to 10.000 is easier then going from 0 to 500
the sickest thing i ever saw was someone going from 5 to 1000 in 1 week, but its easier then your challenge, he started with 5$
eitherway im not trying to break you down in any way, i love you wanna do this challenge, and hope u will succeed really

Start with 10$. End with 1000$. You got 1 month.
Going from 0 to 500 wouldnt impress me. You need a lot of luck next to your skill to win free rolls cause your playing maniacs and
chances are you'll get beat by a wrong image or just luckdonks that go all in with any two. Next to that, people do these challenges
mainly on cash tables because that's skill, pure skill. EV+ Grinding go ahead, the challenges is only to go fast, thats what makes it interesting.
I'm not saying tournaments don't involve skill or anything as such. The opposite is true, you need a lot of skill to win tournaments but you cant win
tournaments without a bit of luck. I've never seen a player that only made 2 hands win a big tourny.
Then again, if you can make 500$ in three months online, thats a fair deal. Good luck.

i've made a fair amount of money both in real life and online poker, I made 300$ from 2.50$ pokerstars gave out for free a long while ago.
But ye, we'll see how this works out.
and actually, the point is to get the first dollar(s) from a freeroll and step over to cashgames, I'm obviously not going to attempt and reach 500 through playing tournaments.
1 thing I don't get from the ferguson challenge is, he had to work 7 months to get a stable 6.95$ <- wtf?

+ at the time he was playing best u could do at full tilt was WIN a freeroll and get 2$
not like now win and get 15$ lol
AND i cant agree more with inou, but in cashgames ofc, u gotta realise even if u play + EV all the way, at some point, one day, you will have played every hand right, and still lost some money... simply because sometimes u get beat
getting it all in with AA vs KK gives u 80-20 but most people forget that 20 out of 100 times they will actually LOSE.
so if u have 2$ play 2 NL get bad beat, RESTART, thats basically what happened to ferguson, and has 0 to do with skill, its just running bad
@Renzo
your post is wrong in so many ways, play online = play MULTIPLE tables = better brm, tighter game, + more experience + more chances to make money, if you play good solid poker and up lay 9 tables online or 1 table live, ull make more online ...
BUT i agree, more fun

situation:
I catch QQ, 3 people left in the pot (one had 395 left).
flop comes 5 5 8 both check I raise all in cuz I was pretty sure neither one of em had a 5.
I got called by both, guy with 395 had K 10 other guy had A K.
ended 5 5 8 4 K
not that I rly made a bad play, I guess I just got a bit greedy and unlucky but I might have been able to avoid it but I couldn't lay the pocket Q down for some reason.
I guess my QQ made me QQ.
Too bad.
