Before you ask for help do this:
- Calm down before you post. Your question might come out unclear and everyone might understand it in their own way.
- Check these guides and tutorials.
- First try to use Demobase's own Search because there might be similar topics about a similar problem. If you can't find a solution here, give Google a try, e.g: "black screen in windows setup". Also remember to RTFM that came with your software or hardware to troubleshoot.
When you ask for help you should tell what you have tried to solve the problem. This way you show you're not a lazyass that only wastes other people's time while you haven't bothered to use your own brain.
Give your question a careful thought. A badly formatted question receives few helpful answers or none at all. The more you point out you have tried to help yourself out the more likely you are to receive help. When you have typed your question read it through once.
Use a topic name that describes your problem. "help", "poop!" and "wtf" are examples of bad topic names that many users won't even bother to open. Also other users are more likely to find help from older topics with descriptive names.
Be specific and informative about your problem:
- Tell about your problem accurately.
- Tell what operating system you are using (Windows 98/XP/etc.) and the most important components of your computer (motherboard, processor, memory, hard drive, graphics card, power supply). If you don't know what you have inside your pc you can use some program e.g. cpu-z for that purpose.
- To boost your chance getting help take a screenshot or a picture with a camera of your problem.
- Tell what you have already done to try to fix the problem.
- Tell about your pc's recent changes of software or hardware.
After the problem is fixed the most important thing is to tell in the same topic how you fixed it.
