Hey max, there are some Frenchies that have bad pings in 2k3 servers. And with bad I mean really bad.

Just for example, Roko is able to play with a ping of let's say 35 in HsS (non-2k3) server, but when he connects to a 2k3 server his ping is around 135 :S. The big problem is that many frenchies have a common provider namely, www.orange.fr (If I am right).

I've talked to sKul about this, he said that many frenches quit/are willing to quit because of this. He says that orange normally is the best provider in France, that's why most of the Frenchies have this problem.

This should be fixable right? I mean they do have good pings in other servers :S?

I will try to provide you of information if needed max.

well yesterday at 12:00 or something, we were about to scrim xG and suddenly riper(swe) devaz(il) and wax(fin) had lag attacks on 2k3 servers.
have u heard anything about it max?

rocket too =>. ping was around 70-100, normally 40. i would run and then warp back few steps.

We had too in vL server some lag spikes.

That's quite unfortunate. There's little we can do about the ping problems, our connection company is responsible for that. However, I can send them traceroutes and sometimes they are able to update the routing. If you have a high ping and you want to make a traceroute for us, please do the following:

- Go to Start -> Run, enter "cmd" and press Enter
- Then, the Command Prompt window should open
- In that window, type "tracert 193.138.205.49 >> c:\trace.txt" and press Enter
- The traceroute will be executed: this might take a few minutes
- Once the trace has been completed, you can find the results in the c:\trace.txt file

Please send me the contents of the trace.txt along with your own IP address, and I will forward this information to our connection company. Thank you in advance.

Not sure if this was discussed before . But on our server players will be fine most of the time, but when we go in Competition Mode, our ping skyrockets and we lag. When Competition mode is disabled, its back to normal. It doesn't happen all the time, only when it is critical , like when we have scrims etc, but only to players who have above 100ms ping . It does not affect people who have low pings as much

For example I usually have a 150ms ping then it shoots up to 250ms when CM mode is enabled. Then back down to 150ms.
I find myself quoting Murphy's Law when we have matches alot these days.

u told me to post here so here u go: i got freakin ping problems on ur servers. It mostly starts at afternoon, in morning its sometimes around 80-90 (which is playable but still far from what it should be). Then it becomes 150-200

Actually I referred to post #5, two posts above yours. If you send me your trace route plus IP address I can forward it to our connection company, and they may be able to update the routing and improve your ping.

im not saying 2k3 sucks now but u guys fuck certain countires up from time to time. i mean F!ve is from slovenia his ping used to be like 150 and rest good. after a while his ping dropped to 40 or something and my ping went to 200, then my ping dropped again as usual and these days its dawid's ping (150) from 30. (Poland) and i remember there was a period with 2k3 testing a new connection, so cant u guys make 2 connection and the clients can choose or something?

same for frenchies up there, roko's ping dropped now and its 30 while he used to have 300 lol

and i dont know whats so special about i3d.net but their servers never made anyone lag and its not bullshit pings, 213.163.66.205:20101 only thing is that they run old rpm, mayb u could check their connection and see whats the diff

It's just our ISP that's quite bad. Indeed i3D and LeaseWeb have better connections overall. We've been planning to move to another ISP but never actually fulfilled this plan. All we can do at the moment is send trace routes to our ISP so that they can update the routing if possible.

We will probably aim for a different data centre, main reason being that i3D could be a possible competitor in the future. Thanks for the offer anyway.
