Hey all, Well some of you know me, but who doesn't my name is nick a 1ster from sof2 silver(full) and I'm from Israel.

I would like to propose an idea:

Lets create a sof2 gold section.

Last week i thought to my self why did sof2 gold failed? i remember it was a lot of fun, fast games, pure aim shots good people, but the suddenly good servers started to die
and the community dwindled.
Thats why i decided to try and install the game, oh i wish i didn't...
For the coders out there i'm sure its a piece of cake, but for me and i'm sure it is for most of us out there, it is a nightmare like it was for me.
I found the games patch i found the full download, the Punkbuster files(like fairplay) and thought, great i can play now, however its more to it then that.
You need to download updated checker of PB, which i think its most important, find the commands to turn it off, the files from some unknown site so that the server wouldn't kick me every two minutes, then after some more updates i manages to get it working.

i know from past experience from people who tried to install this game they quited half way though.

now the game runs good but only on OSP server(like rpm but on gold) the roc mode(a different rpm) is just some more files to download and they mostly kids and rd server.

Now. i want to ask you admins, How about making an sof2 gold section as well? we need to try to make gold work also, its a cool and an exciting game which just need some guidance.

I talked to some gold players and they agree that no one has a forum or something substantial that can help people join the game.
Some also suggested to help with the explanations to how to install and all...
Would like to hear a positive answer

No offense but I don't think we have the time to uphold a Demo community, while having full in our presence as well and then adding Gold.

I don't think at all "we need to try to make gold work also". Keeping demo alive is hard enough as it is.

Well, i agree that hold demo + full is annoying, but look, gold works fine, all we need is to add the section in here, i'm not asking you to upload the files which are needed to fully run gold, i'm just asking for a section.

We will make the posts and all u need to do i think is to sticky them if they help.

Why not test it, ill publish it though gold. Most of them are people over 20 some even 30. they even might help us upholding it just fine.

Lets just try, if its too much? well, at least we did something.

I think we should expand demobase empire sometime in the future but gold is dead, there are like almost no clans left there, mostly mixwars played. Demobase is mostly about cups, hard to make cup on gold which will not fail, also 2on2/3on3 cups suck and from what I've been told
by my friends theres no chance for a regualr 5on5 cup like we have in demo and full.
If there ever be sof4 though(mby never) I'll make efforts to convince admins/community to expand there!

To tell the truth, sof2 full was almost dead it self, but the fairplay came out, now we see cups all over...
I do think if we make a section on gold, with explanations to how to install it people will join it...

its way cooler then demo
Think about it, you have nades, guns, all kinds of weapons, only 1st... some bugs fixed, who know, demo players might try it too.

You are a proud member of demo base who doesn't want to see his precious members getting mad from over working, and might also decrease the upholding of demo.
But still a section is a small thing to ask... though you probably say:
"fist a section, then files, then server...etc" well i'm not saying that will never happen, but now? lol, there are 5 normal servers there 2 are played 1 is locked 1 is for wars and 1... well don't know what it is because couldn't enter it

As i see it now, the community of gold is small, but to still play the game after all left?
I think its a good investment, the oldschool will stay, and new ones will come...
Give it a month or so to see if there is something to come from it...

Funy you say we are against doing this becoz we are afraid to lose players lol- alot guys from here still play gold from time to time.
There's nothing to be gained, full increased demobase traffic by smth prolly like 20-33% so it was worth it.
what about gold, make whole subforum for 5ppl? I don't see how is this worth the effort, id rather make sof3 section lolz

But maybe we will discuss it with admins, if at least one of them thinks it's a good idea.

Gold and demo can't be compared, I liked Gold but there is no way it will ever get the same kind of activity like we have on demo for example (which is poor too, but we still alive and kicking).

Gold is an awesome game though, but an attempt of "reviving" it would fail anyway, even clanbase gave up on gold (which is a way more powerful community then ours)

As much as it sux to see gold fading out, it just can't be done to make it active.
Gold only consists of old players (by old i mean around 30, who couldn't be arsed to play scrims anymore) and a few childish noobs who keep playing realdamage laggy rocmod. American scene does a mixwar from time to time but halfway through the game they're already talking about a war they'll be doing in cod...
Tried doing some wars on gold with some c4nabz but only one opponent lol.
Hold on to what we've got, and if you rly want to expand demobase, try some new shooters.

Will only attract 14year old noobs, those old players won't bother joining up and communities like j4f, Tagaming, kos? already got a forum on their own.

I think we're doing fine as it is. Besides sof3 is like.. crap. It's also not sof to me.. more like rip-off wannabe dripper cock of doody if you know what I mean.
But we could try checking it out? Dunno if they have any forums whatsoever.
