i think 4870 is better coz it has crossfire---
EDIT: just buy the 4870 for now, then u can buy another video card coz the 4870 allows u to use another gpu = crossfire
if this single vid card alone doesn't satisfy you, once u save enuff money for another gpu in the feature u can buy it then.
thats all i know aobut crossfire man. that shits complicated i never worked with any hardware(never used a desktop) so i suggest u talk to Jesa and ask him if your configured Desktop supports multiple gpus. i think it has someting to do with ur motherboard allowing multiple gpus i dunno just talk to him

Toxic, every GPU by ATI has the crossfire option I dont understand what it has to do with what agretz is asking? He cant run crossfire anyway since his PSU is only 400watts

There's no sense buying a 3-generation-old GPU like ATI 4850/70 unless it's a secondhand product that you can get really cheap. ATI 5670 is somewhat slower than ATI 4870 but it has better support for different media formats.
Without knowing your budget I'm just gonna tell you this. Currently the GPUs that offer the best bang for buck are NVIDIA GTX 460 OC (768MB ~170€ & 1GB ~190€) and ATI 6850 (~180€) or the faster NVIDIA GTX 470 (~250€) and ATI 6870 (~230€). The ATI 6xxx generation was just released and it consumes less power than the rival NVIDIA 4xx generation and it also has a better media support. If you play games with a high resolution like 1920x1080p, then forget about GTX 460 768MB and buy at least the 1GB model.
