Yo guys, I'm searching on the net about lcd monitors because I want to buy a new one. And I found out that the current lcd can't make more than 60 fps. So what's the point to have more fps than 60 in sof, if the monitor cannot do more 60 fps neither huh? None right ?

60 is the refresh rate, not the fps
basically the bigger refresh rate u have, the smoother the game feels (it updates faster)

r_displayrefresh is the command for that on sof

conclusion: u can have more than 60fps with that screen

ps. only if u set 'vertical sync' ON from ur graphic card's ctrl panel, ur fps will be limited to the same value than ur refresh rate is (60, 75, 100, 120 and so on)

my lcd does 75 what u talkin about? besides there are 100 n 125hz lcds i believe

First of all, fps 125 (anything higher than 60) just feels better, though it might cause tearing and normally the difference shoulnd't be seen by human eye, but try playing with fps 60 and then 125, you'll see it for urself. no gamer is using vsync nowadays either..i dont get ur point.
even if the monitor wont refresh more than 60/75 frames per second, 125fps has its benefits over 60/75......................khflkfhfhfh

so if ur right i shouldnt get more then 75fps cuz my monitor got 75hz, but i got 200fps at sof (more without fp)...
think about that

refresh rate is the monitor's refresh rate, i.e. refreshes per second. FPS is the frames per second that the hardware is able to feed into your monitor. I think in theory if you have a 120hz monitor and you set r_displayrefresh 120 in-game, then set com_maxfps 60, you'll see a smoother picture than with r_displayrefresh set to 60 as well...

and ye don't set it higher than recommended, sooner or later you'll kill ur monitor!

that would be like saying to get 200fps u need a tv lcd not a monitor as tv's r usually 100-200 and now some even 300 hz
