Hrhr I tried watching Gokusen because I liked the manga... well it's not that bad but it kinda loses half of what makes the original 
You should check out the Nodame Cantabile dorama, especially if you haven't read the manga or seen the anime. I hear it's every bit as good as the other versions and boy are they awehsum.

You should try Buzzer Beat if you're going to watch J-drama since one of it's main themes is basketball.
