It gained great popularity in Germany and some other countries like Poland, but
globally it didn't succeed as much as mainstream titles, however it sold better than expected.
Starting with Gothic 1 - 2001
+ great story, great mood throughout the game
+ cool things; you can kill animals get their meat cook it, find herbs than brew a potion(skills req.)
+ main character has a ponytail
- fighting system could better, same with other funtions
like browsing inv, shoping takes some time to get used to, i think it's the biggest flaw

Gothic 2 - 2002
+ controls got less retarded
+ still an okay story
+ bigger map, more options, more skills
- somehow lost some of the mood of the first part
- heard that voice acting sucked in en, played pl and it was great tho

Gothic 3 - 2006
+ graphics improved a lot
+ continuation of the story, lots of quests, skills even more than in 2nd part
+ easier controls than in 1&2
- storyline wasn't as good as it was before

Gothic 4 - I have no idea, but it's diff than others because there was some clash between JoWood and Pyranha Bytes and
4 is done by a new crew and from what I've been told it's diff from old Gothics.
I just thought I make a game review and maybe someone can do a review of some other game ^^
