A little bit of help here?

I just built a new PC.

Specs:
PSU: Corsair AX850
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-p67a-ud7-b3
Processor: Intel i7 2600K
SSD: Corsair Performance 3 128GB
HDD: 2x Western Digital Black 1 TB (64mb cache version)
Memory: Corsair 8GB 2x 4GB (DDR3-1600)
Sound Card: Creative X-Fi Fatality Champion (blah blah more marketing words--the one with the sound bay)
Video Card: 2x Powercolor 6890's (PCS+ Edition)
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit

Uh, I don't think all the case fans/case or other stuff is necessary to post but if you really want to know ask

Anyway, I cannot get sof2 to run at all...

Basically I double click the shortcut icon to start it and it loads, but it gets to the black loading screen then crashes with the this application has crashed box.

I've tried different compatibility modes and tried the sticky fix in the top section and it still isn.t working :X

I'm also using the latest drivers and patches for everything so if anyone has any ideas on what else to try let me know.

You need to use the OLD ati drivers, 10.4 or earlier.

I tried that already :X besides the 6900 series isn't supported in the older drivers iirc 10.12 and newer :<

... no doctorfunk. ex-nuke one...

I just wanted to see just how high the fps would go assuming the game would tax the cards enough and see how the nice straight lines with 8x aa/eq with edge detect.

I was able to start sof wit 11.2 and I'm using 11.3 now. You sure you using the latest drivers? :'D

Right click on the SOF2MP-Test exe and go to properties, under compatibility tab select "run this program in compatibility mode with Windows XP Service Pack 3"

Do the same also for the Fairplay exe.

This might help, and also make sure you have Yankos file called atioglxx.dll in the directory.

lmao the new 6800 and 6900 series cards will not run sof2 no matter what u try there are 2 ways to fix it one is my way one is defqons tho i tried his way on 5-6 work pcs @ my mates shop and they all didnt work with it same as mine so tbh since my was always works why not use it

if ur saying ur card works and its 6800-6900 series with them drivers then u would have alrdy had installed smth to get the fix there are programs that can do this just using the .dll file is quicker

did you try renaming sof2mp.exe to quake3.exe and see if it works without FP? this seemed to work for some people with various problem..as weird as it sounds
