The client side rate is limited by the servers sv_maxRate, which can be 25000 maximum IIRC. The snaps are limited by the servers sv_fps which is usually 20. Therefore increasing your client side cvars beyond these values is pointless. Ridiculing players for using high rate/snaps is nonsense.
