After some complaints about mp_raven being laggy as hell, I decided to investigate it myself and I found out that it's not only laggy but it has an evil chopper aswell (Sylt can confirm!)
So therefor and hereby it has been REMOVED from the 1on1 Nations Cup and cannot be played anymore.
Players who still pick this map will count as invalid and will have to Rematch their map.

has anyone ever thought why mp_shop and mp_raven are basically the only (gold)maps eating some fps? is there some particular reason for this or is it just a coincidence that both of these maps have a helicopter? not to mention the fps on mp_shop on tdm with no helicopter is perfectly fine
someone who has knowledge about map making/editing tools should try removing the choppers (or just the moving parts perhaps?) and see if it makes any difference

I didn't had the feeling that the "normal" raven was having fps lag or somehow.
But could be that true that they are lowering the FPS cause of a chopper

true, the sounds on raven fucks everything up. snd_rs works for shop but not for raven! damn that map, damn that heli!

Shame, raven gut map.
Luminaire recompiled the map mp_raven.bsp and removed the sound from the helicopter so the helicopter is totally silent now. But he had to add all the textures again (its different textures than the original one), and I think that's why the fps is bad. Not sure tho. The roof isn't really huge, so I think a map like hk2 should logically drain more fps than raven.
The best solution was to replace the helicopter sound .mp3 with a silent mp3 file, but it turned out to be the same .mp3-file as the mp_shop helicopter. Now almost everyone has a snd_restart bind, so I dunno how much difference the helicopter sound makes anyways
But it felt lame to remove the standards from demo for a custom map.Didn't notice the fps drop when I made the pack so I'm afraid we gotta live with it. If not lumi or some other map h4x0r can crank up the fps of it

Pretty pointless to make a new version of the map imo, it took ages for the most people here to download the gold maps in the first place and they won't download a new version of a semi-good map like mp_raven. You can make a new version if you really want to of course, who am I to stop you? I just don't think that it will be a succes

put maps.pk3 to demo folder (from 1.00)... problem solved, there's all full maps...
and put Gold_Maps.pk3 to play also gold maps.
