because having it for free is not a waste and its the actual price of the game that didn't come on disc, and is only available in steam store as electronic version tied to your account.

 

And its 2013 not 2004 for game like this to come out for a bigger price than free.

 

So you pay for a disk and not for the game. The disk price for the publisher isnt noticeble where the game development is. You pay for the software never for the disk.

They will never stop making games even when we all download it. The will find a other way to get the income they desire.  Just take a look at the f2p format. If they would stop, it would mean we wont see another cod11/12/13 but we would see more community mods like cs/dayz.. 

 

 

They said the same about music years ago. We can still listen to them for free but they get paid. So in some way downloading games/music is good.

well.. I partly agree with you, but there has to be some kind of rewardingsystem for the makers. I mean, in this world we live in and the capitalistic society it is still an utopia to think that people have the time and motivation to make the quality games we are used to play without having some form of financial rewards.

 

I agree that certain systems of earning money are outdated and don't fit in this virtual world, thus have to adept to a new way of consuming by the users.

But blindly stealing software and pirating it without thinking of possible consequences is still plain stupid in my opinion.
