Even during my most active period the past two years I was inactive as fuck but I still enjoyed a war now and then, I'll miss it tbh and I'm sure many people feel the same way.
I had a brief conversation with Shifty and we came to realise this game can easily be saved if we want to.
I'm taking example of Urban Terror, a game as old as SOF2 is.. the reason it is still alive is advertisement, regular cups (with pricepools) and a dedicated team behind it.
We had those people but we lacked advertisement. Reviving this game is a matter of changing the name (demo behind it is not attractive to people) and making it our own project.
Q3-engine is open source and as long as we don't make profit from the game it should be alright to use the sourcecode.
All we should need to do is change the name, get RPM up and running again and get Butcher to host servers to start with and advertise our game.
Even if we -only- get 200 players to play our game, it is still a lot more players than we had the past 2-3 years. I'd make work of advertising and dig up my Sony Vegas from under the dust and start making a video showing our game at its finest.
I would need Luminaire, Drfunk and Insane aboard and most of all xillax, otherwise it's not even worth trying anything.
Keep this topic clean, I'm assuming you still visit Demobase because feel connected to SOF2 and its community and you care for it, if you got no valueable input do not reply.
