Who is overrated?

 

Netherlands haven't played much better tbh, except the second half vs Spain. You deserved to lose vs Australia, Robben just carried you there. Everyone in Belgium is disappointed with how Belgium played but we did play vs two defensive teams crawling into their own box with 11. We still should have done better yes. I think we'll see a way better Belgium vs a better opponent, we are just in as shyte group tbh. Everyone is playing on the counter vs us.

We deserved to lose? We scored 10 goals and only got 3 the other side (2 unfair penaltykicks). Obv Robben is carrying us throughout this cup and that's the diff between Holland and Belgium. Belgiums not blessed with a superstar like Robben, but is full of average and overrated players who play fine with their clubs, but aren't as dominant as Robben or Van Persie (not his last season, but his second last season with manchester when he made them champions of england). Also Sneijder played a dominant role in 2010 on the WC and with his club Inter. Those 3 are experienced, talented and powerfull players to have on your team and only those 3 are able to get us far. Belgiums full of young players and I think they will be better in 4 years.

 

And overrated? Yes, overrated. I've looked at a lot of Premier League games and Kompanys been very bad and had a lot of ups and downs. Even Demichelis made a better impression in the important matches. Vermaelen has been injured a lot like Robben and Vertonghen and Alderweireld have a lack of speed. Lack of creativity on the midfield. I like de bruyne though, but it's not like he's a beast like other midfielders in the WC. Mertens been great and obv Hazard is a good player, but he ain't carrying his team to be honest. He's only ?22? so that's no problem, but don't act like he's one of the best already. Your keeper is amazing and obv one of the best around. All in all you got a good team for such a small country, but I just don't see Belgium catching a top 4 spot, maybe in 4 years. 

 

Everybody played on the counter against you? Russia dominated the second half the best way they could. It was pretty much Belgium who countered.

Russia had the upperhand for maybe 30 mins in the second half and collapsed the last 10mins. Yeh it was a shit game, but just like Holland, individual actions made the difference. All I'm saying is NL hasn't played any better than Belgium other than that one half vs Spain.

 

None of the "top teams" delivered yet, Spain is out, England is out, Brasil played good one half in their 3 games, Holland played good one half (scored best goals tho imo), Italy and Uruguay have been shit mostly, Argentina has been shit. Only team I enjoyed watching has been Chili lol.

We had better opponents than Belgium + everybody expected more of Belgium and less of Holland before the WC started. I think Brazil/Argentina/Germany would rather play Belgium than Holland at this moment.

Your games were a sore to my eyes, yeh you got a perfect 9/9.. but it wasn't enjoyable to watch. Neither was Belgium. But why the fuck is every Dutchie in here arguing about it lol. We haven't given away anything either. I think our defense is probably our strongest asset.

 

We both play the same atm, playing for a good result, not so much for the soccer.. and I think it's sad. I hope to see a better Belgium tomorrow.

imo ur defence is pretty weak with 4 CB's of which one is like 36 (?) years old and one that didnt play more than 10 matches this season lol, also they didnt really look that solid to me in the first two games, but yeah i could be wrong here.

 

but you're mistaken: we definitely do not play the same. Belgium is actually TRYING to play good and offensive, but theyre lacking the creativity/skill to do this. Holland is purposefully playing a reaction-based game and is succeeding in this perfectly (judging the chile/spain games). Of course the Australia game was horrible but thats because van Gaal decided to play the exact same way against a way more defensive country -> playing defensive vs a defensive country does not open the space you want for counters and thus youll get a horrible match ayea. However, this was fixed in the second half when Depay made his WC debut and NL went back to their familiar 433 style of playing.

 

So yes, our games can be a sore to a neutral (and even Dutch) viewers eye, but we're playing exactly like intended, whereas belgium is just cluelessly trying to get high balls into the penalty area and hopes for a tall guy to head it in lol (this is not an actual ''tactic'' imo)

LOL i hope you're joking. Kompany surely made some errors but that's pushing it too far

 

No outright favorite atm. World cup starts at knockout fase, we'll see what happens then. 

 

The team that impressed me the most (in all 3 matches) is Colombia (james rodriguez e.g.) and France (weak oppenents though).

The team that disappointed me the most is Japan.
