If you are able to seriously complain about a serious mistake made by luminaire then also be motivated enough to propose how to solve this adressed problem.

I did do it one time and with a great succes. Lumi was sent to the madhouse and was removed from his demobase powers. The world was saved once again by me. To bad they released him from the madhouse this soon. As you all see he is still not fit enough to come out in the crowd!

I have been asked to be moderator on the cheater section which is a new challenge for me. There should come a general blacklist of this community some players PM-ed me. But it's very hard to make one without getting critics of other people, it's even impossible I think. But that doesn't mean we can try it as community. Since the time we play with eachother in the community we are discussing every day about who cheats, who might cheat and/or who have cheated. It's hard to judge on players who can hide it good, but fortunately FP is now getting better and we hope that the newer versions will contain more options to checking for cheaters.

But before we make such list we must discuss many details. Because there are several forms of cheating. Now the problem also is that this community is not only for Soldier of Fortune II - MP Test, so banning players on the forum won't be achieved. But we can have sanctions for cups, so a player will be banned for season(s). Now we have a Blacklist and a Graylist. But who belongs on the Blacklist and who on the Graylist?

That's something we still didn't figure out, but here is my propotion, since I'm new here:

-- Blacklist

Gamehack violations
[ Any form of gamehack (wallhack, aimbot, colored models..) used by a player will result being on the Blacklist ]

2 unsent demos from a cup's season
[ Any player that did not send his record twice in a DB cup's season will be placed on the Blacklist + on Graylist next DB cup's season]

Crashing a server twice [ If it can be proven a player crashed the server twice no matter what status the server is (public or war), it will result to a place on the Blacklist.

Using an MOD that is not on the accepted MOD-list on DB
[ This will result on the Blacklist depending how advanced that MOD is. Any Gamehack inclusive this MOD will result on the Blacklist, an advantage that doesn't influence the gameplay (Auto-recording binds, mappacks, gametypes) won't be applied to the Blacklist. ]

Accepted MOD-list on DB:

- Goldmaps MOD (i.e ctf_update.pk3, textures1234.pk4, models.pk3)
- Gametypes MOD (i.e ctf.pk3, dem.pk3)



-- Graylist

1 unsent demo of mixwar, clanwar, teamwar, practicewar and/or cupwar [ This is a Graylist which means you are not official a cheater but being watched. Many players forget to record, so they will be placed to the Graylist, don't feel offended by having a bad name, nothing is wrong yet if you are on this list, but it's a sign for players to keep an eye. ]

Crashing a server [ If it can be proven a player crashed the server no matter what status the server is (public or war), it will result to a place on the Graylist. Doing this twice will result to the Blacklist. ]

Now some extra notes:

= Category-star, if a player reaches 4, it will come on the Blacklist. (Example: 1 unsent demo and admitting a violation and later saying you didn't do it will result on a place on the Blacklist)


- Being on the banlist makes you an official cheater, but the banned time can be different:

: Banned for play-offs in a DB cup's season

: Banned for an entire DB cup's season

: Banned for 1 entire DB cup's season and the playoffs of the season after

: Banned for 2 entire DB cup's seasons.

: Banned for 3 entire DB cup's seasons.

Some players really don't like what I've written here, but if we do make clear rules about this it will:

1) avoid many useless topics in the 'Cheater section'
2) make players more alert and will help
3) make a clear black- and graylist
4) will improve the gameplay

At least I try something, I want to hear suggestions, flaming posts will be deleted. I hope also the DB admins will react/post reply to this topic.
