What's this all about then?
This is the eXtreme Soccer League (XSL), we are a league for Counter Strike Soccer!

Counter Strike... What?
Yep, Counter Strike Soccer. If you have the game Counter Strike Source (which you can buy for about £5 now) you can find one of our many XSL team's servers and play the soccer mod! It's absolutely free, and is run on the CSS engine!

So what do you do?
Our servers are run with god mode, so you are never killed by a player/ball/bomb/bin laden.. whatever. The object of the game is to pass between your team and score in the oppositions goal - if you do, the other team is killed! You pass the ball with your knife, no guns are involved in the match - and no, it doesn't pop the ball!

Do I need to download stuff? Eeek.. How much?
Yes you do need to download stuff, but don't worry my friend, it's not a lot! All you need to download is a map, a few skins and some bits and bobs from the soccer mod.. on a decent internet connection this will take 3mins max, on a slightly less powerful one, it should take around 5minutes! Favourite the server you're on, and then boot up CSS whenever you feel like a knife-a-round and rejoin it! (No more downloading from then!!)

So what's this, XSL?
The XSL is a Counter Strike Source Soccer league, based around the whole of Europe. The XSL currently contains clans from all over Europe, from Spain to Holland, and is a competitive yet fun way of competing. The competition is hard, and challenging... clans actually have to work their way to the top of this league, it’s very realistic. XSL requires skillful management, you don’t get a squad of 6 of the best players playing and win the league, XSL requires teamwork and tactics – or you won’t get anywhere. The XSL is currently in its 5th season, but you could be a part in the 6th!

Not only is the XSL a league, but it possesses the best CS Soccer community, who are looking into the future and promoting the game internationally. Links are being made from Europe to the Australian league and American league, and we hope for CS Soccer to progress and have as many players playing the mod as there are CS Surfing etc.

Ahh, so whats on the server? Perhaps I could start my own?
Of course you can! Servers are run with Sprint Source and a tool called ‘Soccer Mod 2008’ by fellow XSL administrator Cor Lems and FCD player Marco Boogers. Soccer Mod 2008 can be found on FPS Banana and is one of the most easy tools for soccer you’ll find, anywhere. Soccer Mod 2008 runs the whole system, and also includes a referees menu where matches can be controlled. Addons to Soccer Mod are also regularly being updated, such as the recent Canon and Penalty Mods.

Can I make my own team?
If you've got the guts for it! New clans are popping up everywhere, skill is required physically but also mentally. Only the clans who are kept together the best and who work the hardest are successful – many new clans fail after their first season in a league. If you have a group of 5 friends, and fancy making a team, why not? You’ll get all the support you need, and will also be invited to the European Counter Strike Source Football Federation (ECSSFF) where leaders from all clans are willing to help you. Or, you could just simply join a team already up!
