ctf_update(gold maps+textures+etc for demo) is like from 2007..it was active every once a while with mixes and few wars, that's about it. now it's dead with luminaire&his mate playing 2on2s sometimes ;/

Just read what i said... i dont wanna make it a sof2 gold verision. (if u wanna play gold play gold = no)
To introduce just one map ... to get rid off the one boring mp_shop... (so u can swap from shop to another and back to shop...)
Then after a time, when it gets commonly used all of you will be able to decide if you can get on with introducing another maps or not.

If anything, the official maps only (stock+some more like dep1, osp_siege)

we cant force people to play other maps, it's not like other games where you just put up a map and everyones forced to dl an 'update' ;x

Of course you can force. Look what you (demobase) did to fairplay.exe.
But that's not really about forcing people...
It's just a job for admins, that will put at least a minimal pressure to this thing. Admins have a very big impact at the community, all what is stated in The Demobase Portal index are readed carefully.
All is needed to happen is to take a little care of admins here and announce it...

Using an anticheat is purely common sense.
You can't compare these two to be honest.

Nothing personal to haze, but they already said they ain't going to even try gold maps. Atleast not together as a clan because I remember some of hazes playing goldmaps with me too.
That's already one good clan that isn't going to participate. I don't see any of other big clans going with the idea, too.

let me put it that way; who would want to support an idea that has failed so many times already?
give it a go and get people actually playing..i'm sure I would take part in it if it succeeds.
get SERIOUS clans to play it. atleast try it.
it will be no doubt interesting to see how clans develop new tactics on new map etc..we still see new shit popping up at mp_shop, not to forget old shit is getting used also every once a while that once people thought was 'for noobs'

And who is going to organize all this?
First of all fairplay&shifty, he would have to make new version every 2 weeks or whatever your plan is to bring the new map.
might seem a small job to do, but as far as I know hes working and whatosever and is quite busy. not sure.

Secondly, the files for maps. If you are going to do it 1 map at a time..easiest solution would be still using ctf_update tbh, or tell me who is going to create new pk3 file everytime..meaning finding all the textures&models&etc needed for that map...and pack it together and upload..then upload it to servers...etc..
Would you put shop2 to your TDM server if that means losing half of the players if not more..yes, I mean the random noobs roaming tdm every single day..they wouldn't have a clue about what's going on.

no offense ismail, it would be easier for someone who has a good reputation a good pace to do things.
i mean believe it or not, this community runs on monkey see monkey do. We see a good player do something and we attempt to do it.
2 examples would be

and obviously fairplay.
