I think you have some corrupt files, or files missing. Maybe some dll files or so. Anyway I recommand you to reïnstall a good version of sof2 and try again.
Peace Out

The problem is probably that you have invalid (edited, missing, or too many) pk3 files. All you need are the standard pk3 files in the base folder that you get from a clean installation. Plus, you need to add the RPM 0.78 to your RPM folder (download at http://www.rpm2k3.com ). Do not modify the pk3 files, do not add any other files, and you will be fine.

Max, basically no one uses this Leader feature in scrims. I'd like to use the /tell feature again in comp mode, please enable it in next version.
Posted 31 October 2009 - 06:05 PM
Players are probably not aware that it exists right now.
Posted 31 October 2009 - 08:41 PM
Guess not. But at least enable the /tell function for next version during comp mode if !ca ain't working.

Reasons for disabling?: (dead players/spectators communicating secretly)
Other than that.
1. If you got a traitor/faker in your team, that /tells or !ca your opponent the positions or the tactics?
2. For someone in spectator who is invited by both teams, and he helps the one team with /tell or admin chat?
etc etc there is alot of these examples
I think the leaders should/are responsible of who are playing in their team, who are invited by their team, who they can trust or not. And if some shit happens because of their invitations or any other rats fkn around, than they should pay for their responsibilities.
Now if /tell would've been not of use I would say, well ok leaders should be responsible but yeah this is an impovement, so why not. But if you ask me, people do want some [rivacy, and yeah also in the middle of the scrims sometimes. I mean maybe I want to pep-talk a guy in my team (not my leader) without letting any1 else know. Or maybe I want to ask a team member what he thinks of an idea of mine before I bring it to the leader etc etc..
For the !ca, that can GTFO during scrimsOnly specs whining for invitations during scrims.
Anyway, I can understand your reason for disabling /tell but if it was pure negative, I wuld have kept my mouth shut, hmm or my fingers from the keyboard. But /tell can sometimes also have positive or important influence during compmode. And this compensate +1 and -1 so it deserves it's enablement (don't know if this is a good word)!
Peace Out
And max don't forget! You have to keep them bitches happy, it's not you who play with the mod but us. And as you can see we have welcomed alot of changes, which we liked. But we didn't like the anti-/tell!
And of course this is a bit bullshit, since some people want hacks or hash commands to be allowed, so this goes against my arguement (you can't keep every1 happy). But I guess (I'm not sure) that the majority of sof2 would want the /tell command to be enabled. With other words we haven't whined or suggested it to be put off.
Oh and Sliz & Me like them new news (H)!

For pep-talk or discussing something privately with someone in your team, granted the tell command could be useful. How about enabling the tell command only to chat with people in your own team? That way, no abuse is possible. By the way, have you already experimented with the Leader feature? Is it utterly useless? I've mainly added it to keep things fair, so that not just admins can use global chat, but just one player in each team (which is relevant in infiltration).
I know it's you guys who play with the mod, but I try to keep things rational and do things for proper reasons.
Glad you like the new newsit got about time after 1.5 months.
really nice but still i have invalid game folder >D somebody know something about that ? XD
or maybe somebody will give me a link to good version of sof2 ?
Dunno, maybe it's because i have vista XD ?

http://caserun.com/games/full.zipHmm.. I was thinking it might be better to add the /tell function to clanmembers instead of team, in case I want to ask a member in spec something in private. But this is a dilemma since only 1 team in a server has clan so I don't know what is the best option yet.

I have Vista too, that's not the problem. Just download these and try it again. 1st mount cd1 and then install, then it asks you to mount cd 2 and then at the end it asks for cd1 again. At the end you get an error. Just press abort and say do NOT rollback your installation. Your sof2 is installed correctly now.

Well, I'd also like to chat in /tell to opposite team or to spectators sometime for a private talk, if you don't have the person's msn, or even if you do he might not answer on MSN.
