Cool feature but I don't think I will use it. If I want to test new names with different colors I just put them in a .cfg file and exec.
To be honest, I made the feature for fun. But I think many people would like to experiment with their nickname colors, especially the casual players. Also, you can click a color and see which symbol it is, so that could be useful for creating names as well. Glad you like it.

But it can't be used for binding names I think, since I write my colorless name in console and add the colors in the menu. And you bind through console hmppzp... Well fuck that.

Yeah, I also think the patterns are more useful. Well, unlike to Slizer I never use cfg's to extract my name I also make em in console. So from now on all I need to do is to write my name without colors and add the colors later, I think I'll use it alot in the future eventough I don't change my names that often.

If you want, I can easily make a bind option. And possibly an export function, so you can save the name to a file.
Why do the colors show 0,0,0,0,0,0,0 (and so on) in symbols?
You mean why did I choose to use those symbols for the palette? Reason is that I had to choose a character for it, so that the color will be most accurate. I color the symbols the usual way (using the ^) so that the color is exactly the same as it will show in your name: it is not approximated. The symbol I chose seemed best because it is square.

Okie. I guess this feature would be useful for those who don't know what colors to use in their names. I know most color combination's already.

I seem to remember that there is a "Del" symbol (just like "ESC" and "Alt") but the namemakers from soffiles don't have it. Do you know where to get it?

Also how can I bind on "SPACE" or MY F-series (F1, F2 etc..) shit like that. Normaly you do this by typing: " /bind "SPACE" set name "name" " in console.
And wouldn't it be more handy to put the letters/symbols of the specific color in the palette.
Peace Out

Nice, but when I tried to bind a name it said I coulnd't use spaces in it. Or I have to put it in a file.

You only bind to a single character now (a through z and 0 through 9, along with some special chars). Maybe I can still fix the bind so it will be like in the menu, not sure.
Indeed you cannot bind names with a space in them. It seems impossible to put the "-character in a bind (e.g. bind x name "abc abc", the " can't be used, so that it will be bind x name abc abc, the second abc part is not used). You can try this yourself by using the bind command in the console. So I made an error appear when there is a space in your name. There might still be a hacky way to fix it though.
The letters/symbols are shown when you click the color, in the "Selected" box. It would look very messy to show them in the palette.

If you can it would be nice. But if possible then make it so that the left mousebutton cannot be binded through this menu, since some noobs (also me in the past) double click by accident, and then your mousebutton is binded. And then you use backspace twice again to remove the bind and than bind the right key, and you rebind "shooting"again etc etc..
Edit: If you could mix the menu-style and your-style (the bind button to confirm) it would be even more nice. (If so forget what I said about the mouseclick.)

Try -> /bind x set name "abc abc" <-. I have a space in my MDK tags. I binded it through console the way as in the example. In my cfg it shows bind / "set name ^${{{^7MDK^$}}} ^7B_Y^$`".
Edit: I checked this out better, you don't even need to use ->"<- when using "set name". All you have to say: "/bind <key> set name <name>".
The letters/symbols are shown when you click the color, in the "Selected" box. It would look very messy to show them in the palette.
The palette you showed as example looks pretty nice if you ask me ( http://img503.images...adasdasdws8.png ).

@ Bind command: great, it works when you use "set" in front of it. So I'll use that and the problem with the space is gone.
@ Palette: I would have to draw the characters over the current palette. That would require 90 extra items, and the user interface files would get too large.

''DEL''
is ctrl + backspace
Thanks, I will try that.
I never use set or seta, just in my name.cfg:
name "^-|^DX^-|^7Gamers^D~^->^7$l1z0r
In your CFG that works indeed. However, the "-character cannot be used when you want to bind it to a key. When you want to bind it (so you can't use the "-character), as we found out, you can use "set" in front of it and the spaces work.

It works if you put just 1 " in front and not " in the end.
That still does not work if you want to bind a name to a key, it might indeed work when you put it in a file. Then again, using one "-character in the front is equivalent to using no "-characters at all.

Or soemthing different like, when you type in chat !maps or in console /maps you see all the maps that the servers got? Or w/e you like, or think is the best. Or maybe you think it's not a good idea at all :/

And Max, when is this xx.xx.ip.ip system coming back? o.O
We're getting desperate over here... some admins lose their powers everyday and it's frustrating for me to always go and add it back or people start abusing server rules.
Please hurry with this update, it's been a long time now it was suggested and I consider it to be an important update! Thanks!
