Oi max, in the past when I used to connect to a RPM server, load the RPM and then disconnect. After doing this a symbol of RPM would pop up in the bottom of the sof2 menu.

This used to be very handy, for example for creating a home-made server. I remember that there was a lot of settings you could change. When you create a server the default way, it's useless you can only change timelmit scorelimit and some other useless things.
Today I tried to create a homemade server, but I couldn't make one with RPM-mod on it.

Am I doing something wrong here?

Oh yeah, I remember that as well with the old RPM mod. RPM 0.5, RPM 0.6 and RPM 0.7 (SC) version had that feature I think. It was useful for creating Home servers!

I liked the idea of checking what maps the server got. Also if it's possible to know what exactly to type to put the map like "/rcon map mp_shop". Because sometimes on custom maps you don't know if you must do "mp_" or just "map mapname", and I've noticed on some maps you don't even put the name that the map is called, you put something else and this is something you must look up on soffiles.com or readme.txt file that you get from the map maker, otherwise you have no idea, you have to guess :P

And Max, when is this xx.xx.ip.ip system coming back? o.O

We're getting desperate over here... some admins lose their powers everyday and it's frustrating for me to always go and add it back or people start abusing server rules.

Please hurry with this update, it's been a long time now it was suggested and I consider it to be an important update! Thanks!


I will add a serverside command to check all mapnames.

The IP system has been restored, you can now choose how many characters you want for the checking system. However I haven't released the new version (1.54) yet, I will probably do this next friday.

Hmm.. I think it was either RPM 0.7 or 0.5c or whatever it was called. THis is the link for RPM 0.7, I can't find the 0.5 one --> http://www.filefront...beta2.final.zip.
When you install this RPM you also get a file "RPM_Server_Mod_Filter.pk3" in your mp. This makes your serverlist more small, a bit like the ingame serverlist menu. I kept this 1 from the old RPM in my mp, stil using it (maybe handy for you to know).

And btw? In the new serverside you will release, is this the one with more stats?

Ok, I have tested it.
When I install this RPM, it also includes a minimizer, and like I said that RPM_mod_filter and some other things. It also creates a shortcut to your desktop named SOF2 RPM.
When you start sof2 through this, it 1st tends to launch the minimizer, but for some reason this gave an error for me. And once your sof2 is started, you emmediatly have the RPM icon in the spot I told you where it should be.

And when you create a server the default way, you have a server with RPM-mod running.

Now when you start sof2 the default way, by double clicking on the Sof2MP icon. You don't have the icon in the mnu. Once you join a RPM server and leave (with other words, once you load RPM), you get this icon in the menu, and when you create a server you get a server with RPM-MOD running.

When you press on this icon there are a lot of options, which if you tend to use this feature in your RPM, you probably won't need since your RPM is a bit different. But it is handy. You actualy do not even need as many options as this 1. Actualy the options you can set the default way, might even be enough since you can change everything in the server itself.
But before now I couldn't create a home-made server running on RPM.

And what's with the added minimizer, maybe you could do something like this 2? But if I give it a second look, the new shortcut tried to launch the minimizer before launching sof2 (eventhough it failed). But since we are using Mousetrap to launch sof2, you couldn't interpret something like this to RPM, to launch a included minimizer before you launch sof2. The shortcut you use probably has something like this in the command line: +fs_game RPM (you can verify this by checking the properties of the file). If that is used, the RPM folder is loaded when SoF2 is loaded, so that the RPM files are used rather than the default SoF2 files. That way, a different main menu can be introduced. Of course I'd like to use this but it seems impossible without the help of the MT crew.

If you disconnect from a RPM server, the RPM folder is still used, and so your main menu is altered.

The minimizer should indeed be added to MT as well.

Well, will you use this feature, so we can make home-made RPM servers? Or are you giving away to much of your files then, and can your RPM be ripped off when you add this feature, so people will start creating their own RPM 2k3 servers with other hosts?

I want to keep the mod as small as possible regarding bytes. Therefore I have not included any server files for the mod. If you want to make a RPM server, you could add the server creating pk3 file from the mod you suggested to your RPM folder. Then, if you disconnect from a server, the main menu UI files from that pk3 will load (alternatively you can use a shortcut with +fs_game RPM) and you can create a server using that menu.

I've checked the 1.54 out max. Everything looks nice, but the only thing that is lacking for me are still the accy per weapon in the /stats. ANd also the hits per weapon, for example I can't check if I've sliced some1 now. And in the past I would just check my knive hits.

Max, also this limitation to talk when compmode is on annoys me, and the majority of sof2. When there's compmode on you truly can't say shit to all, only leaders.

I was in spec today, and I wanted to say. Hey guys I'm going to the gym see you. Then this Leader thingy appeared, and noone was appointed to be leader, and my admin talk wouldn't let me speak in global unless I put compmode off. I was forced to use rcon :/. I think it was better in the past without leaders, with admin talk and /tell.

Scrims aren't posted on clanbase or any other forum, and clans aren't ranked. We just play a war and have some fun, its not so serious that we'll add leaders and focus without making jokes or talking in global.

And I have tried to get used to this leader thingy, but like I said we aren't not getting paid for these wars, they're just not serious enough to stop talking, and make some jokes with spectators and fully focus on the game.

Whenever I've finished the other updates as well, I will put the new version on all servers that are now running 1.54.

The only thing that was weird , was the /stats told me I was using RPM 0.782 but the RPM I was using was 0.783. I actualy only have RPM 0.771, 0.78 and 0.783 in my RPM folder.

But I love them new stats.

I'm glad that you like it. The version glitch is actually caused by a bug in the float-to-string conversion. So, I just store the version as a string as well, and then print the string in "stats" and "info". In other words, the bug is now fixed.

EDIT: also, I've fixed another bug in the stats. It wouldn't show the correct player ID if you entered an erroneous player ID. Plus, it will now also show the client version of Pro mod.

I've released version 1.55 and put it on all servers that were currently running version 1.54. Many minor bugs were fixed. Also, "admin talk" and "tell" commands are now available in competition mode.

For Baris: you ought to try "CTF_Classic 1", which I've just finalized, for mp_kam2 (in a 1.55 server of course -- MDK server). That could actually be more fun than the standard CTF mode.

Max, do I need to add seta numIpChars "0" in the RPM Hide&Seek server.cfg?

And let's say I have seta numIpChars "5", and my IP always begins with "83.233..." so if I give myself admin the first time, and the first time I do that my FULL IP is (example): 83.233.150.170 but the next time I restart my PC/Internet my FULL IP is 83.233.140.120, this means I keep admin as long as I use same name?

But if my IP changes from 83.233 to 83.234 the admin is gone?
