i just do like this

i have Q J of hearts

flop comes

10(hearts) K (hearts) 2 (spades)

some guy shoves prolly set of Kings, tens or 2s, or maybe even two pair, or TpTk

i re evaluate with outs

i need a heart, 9 hearts left, (a Q or J wont do me any good here, i figure/guess) or an Ace, 4Aces left as far as a i know, or a 9, also 4 left

9 hearts, 3 aces, and 3 9s left

so 15 outs = +50% chance of winning = easy call= win in the long run

You should also calculate the nembers of hands dealt and the turn and the river. Maybe now you realise why you never win

u rock a nice A/K other dude rocks the KK

chances of hitting the K?

now

U rock A/K , other dude rocks the KK, u raise ur A/K , KK goes all in... after all this 2 people on the table holding K/10 and K/4 fold

chances of hitting the king?
so according to your logic u still have as much chance to hit the K as the dude has with the A?

first i thought about flaming you, because u made such an aggressive post but then i figured id explain the situation to you so you might learn something

in this specific situation, u dont know the turn and river yet you have QJhearts and flop comes K hearts T hearts and a card that doesnt matter like 2 of spades

if u go all in here on the flop, u have 60% equity, and thus u will win the hand 60% of the time, so going all in here everytime for 100 times in a row will make u win 60 out of 100 times by hitting a flush or a straight because u have 24% chance of hitting a straight and 36% chance of hitting a flush, so even tho u dont have anything on the flop, u probably have the best hand by the river therefor it is a good move to be all in on this flop , becauseeee if that flush comes and u go all in someone with just Kx wont call you anymore so you miss value.

No, this isn't necessary.

Also, you might wanna consider that although your example move would be ev+ normally (odds+fold equity+equity), the ev of calling might be higher because of higher implied odds. And you want to balance your range. If you are always gonna raise/shove draws on the flop, then you can rarely pull of bluffs on scare cards on turn or river because people know u didnt/dont have a draw. Obviously this counts more for the mid and high stakes than for the micro and low stakes, but it's important!

seems kinda villain dependant tbh only when i regwar people HU then i worry about balancing and merging my ranges, i like u pointing out that altho a move might be +EV it might not be maxEV im happy to see someone capable of talking about poker on a decent level on these forums finally, i know shifty and yayo also are quite good in poker out of hte demobase community but they dont really post here often, no cluewho you are tho
