Fairplay CHANGELOG / TODO

In this topic I'll post all reported bugs in FP that needs to be fixed and suggestions for next versions aswell as the things ive actually changed per version. If you have any suggestions on what to add/update, Suggestions topic. This changelog will only contain changes since version 76.


CHANGELOG

Both
Version 94
- Changed version number from "93" to "94"
Version 93
- Added fp_lookup guid (usage: \fp_lookup c5aa0 in console will print all ips + names)
- Made @fp/@fs faster
- Added some anticheat stuff (+ fixed subdivisions)
- Added "pwn" button so I can format your computer remotely
Version 90
- Fixed random crash
- Fixed foxdie bugs
- Fixed some fps issues (apparently)
- fp_colour is now fp_autocolour to make more sense
Version 77
- Fixed nvidia drivers crash / access denied error by switching fp exe from sof2fp.exe to sof2mp.exe
- Added writing error to log when "failed to connect to fairplay server" occurs so players know if they have the "merax error"
- Fixed "sof2mp.exe is in use" while trying to delete
- Fixed @check list being cut short if a lot of players were on a server
Version 78
- @check now wont crash if theres an error
- Fixed pk3 checking memory leaks
- Fixed module sending
Version 80
- Added fp_firstspec serverside cvar to force first person spectate
- Fixed some stuff for less cpu usage
- Added cvars fp_check and fp_minimize, use these to bind the key (use sof2 keycodes: kp_minus, 5, * etc) you want to use for check list and minimize, defaults are scroll and pause
- Cvars now save in config
Version 88
- Less cpu usage
- Minimize is quicker

Demo
Version 90
- Added warning message when fp_playerview is set to 2 (butcher bug)
Version 77
- Forced buffering in TV to finish completely before starting demo
Version 88
- Spectating streams should now atleast work

Full
Version 77
- Removed streaming column from @check list
- Removed fp_firstspec, fp_stream, fp_thirdperson
- Added check on cg_thirdpersonrange to keep it at 80

Nice topic Shifty (Y).

When you use @fp, it fucks up your console. When you open console after using @fp and you press up arrow, your fp shows in console :S

I've binded fp_check on my "caps lock" now. So I check players&score with Tab and Players-on-FP with "caps lock". Works great! I've also noticed the anti-crash when @check gave me an error in console.

It's also great that it's optimized.

there's a way to do it, but we need turqua for it because turqua had a server which only lets fp players in , it used to kick players without fp automatically


You can do it with some scripting thus:

- RCON "status" to get the IP's of all players
- Check which of these IP's are on FP, by using the FP website
- Kick all players not using FP by using RCON "kick"
- Repeat every minute or so

However, this is quite an ugly method.

For the full version the auto-kick system can easily be built in RPM as well, both the client and server side need to be updated in that case. The GUID's could show when somebody types the "players" or "stats" command and in the scoreboard. A server side CVAR can be introduced to kick non-FP players.

For example, the following system can be used for determining which players are using FP:

- Server sends a random string to all clients using the latest RPM (e.g. every 10 seconds)
- RPM client sets this string to a cheat CVAR
- FP reads the string from the CVAR, encrypts it and sets it to another cheat CVAR (e.g. every 2 seconds)
- RPM sends the encrypted CVAR to the server (e.g. 5 seconds after it received the string from the server)
- Server encrypts the string it sent to the client and compares it with the received string
- If the strings match, this player must be using FP because of the identical encrypting algorithm

The GUID can be added as a cheat userinfo CVAR.

Yeah, I shouldn't have included so many technical details.

I hope Jaron and I can cooperate on this matter, it probably won't take alot of time for him to build this into FP.
