Ok so this isn't recent news but I still think it's worth sharing.
A lot of you have probably played WoW on a private server, for those who don't know, Scapegaming was one of them and pretty popular.

A few years ago (I think) it was shut down. Apparently the owner, Alyson Reeves, got sued.
Here's the results:

And indeed Scapegaming had a "donation system" which would give the people a possibility to pay for stuff like:

- Gain levels automatically
- Getting mounts, pets or other items
- Getting gear
And if I'm not mistaken:
- For high amounts of money you would even get "custom" gear (actually just a simple re-name and modded stats), gear which is impossible to attain on retail and thus gaining a massive advantage. I always remember the whine about "donators" and "non-donators" (I played Scape a while before I played Retail).

Edit: and as we all know, WoW is one of the few games where you'll come across both male and female players over their 30's-40's daily. Full-time job and all, they won't miss a hundred bucks for a shiny sword now would they..

well unless she has 89mil or more I think it's a bit unfair also, in Poland fines are a joke
but USA is polar opposite of Poland but also bad.

Almost every WOW private server has a donation server, so i don't think it was just donating!

Its alot of money but its understandable, they just try to set an example with this. Stuff like this will happen more and more in the future. I dont feel sorry for this woman. Making alot of money on someone else his succes by just hosting some server. She could have seen it comming.
