Well I heard that abu and wacko agreed to make Noobroom v1.00 Gold Edition CTF cup on demo/gold rules; so 1st only and 2nades etc

Im sorry doctor funk but this topic is a bad bad idea.

1st - Everyone in this game knows full exist, and everyone can download full and play it.

2nd - If players want to start playing full instead of demo, they can easily do it and they dont need to leave the community. That's why we have the full version forum? For players who want to play full can still interact in demobase?

3rd - Ppl who still play demo aren't stupid, they know they can switch to full if they want, it's not like there's a world we dont know of. If we play demo it's because we want to play demo instead of full.

4th- This shouldn't be posted in the annoucment forum, kinda transmits the idea that it's a TO DO thing. SHould be posted in the general section with more options. As someone said above, i wanna vote no, not because it wont work, just because i think it's stupid.

5th - Ppl who wants to play full, just go play full as i said before there's a section for full in the forum!! No need to kill the few activity we still have for something you dont even know if it will work.

it's not about going play full, but going playing full demo style. And you know my reasons for setting up this topic was to see how many people like the idea. It could be worth a shot but demo players are skeptical so it probably will never happen, so np?

Last cup was a ctf cup please make a inf cup before this cup starts.

both games have their pros and cons but i dont see any proper reason for moving to 1.00

however if we moved to full;

+ source code is available so the game can be modified easier than demo (sof2tv, refrag and so on..)
+ bullet registry is better than on demo
- people using thirdperson, they have been doing it for years already so i guess theres no way to force them to play with 1st person only

also i dont understand people talkin about the movement differences, its really simple, some people prefer the demo movement to full movement and vice versa.. theres no 'better' movement

Why not go gold then. It has all the pro's full has but is more advanced (as its a patch to 1.00 d'uh).

3rd scene and 1st scene can be separated like it was in ther past. 1st only servers and 3rd allowed servers.
Back in the days we 1st players never had problems with the 3rd servers since we just ignored them and went to our 1st servers. More 1st only clans will come and maybe more 3rd only clans

thats just the way i think about this

gold is the only game i'd consider moving to as its really enjoyable to play and like u said it has alot of possibilities for movie making etc.

i played it for a long time aswell but i had a new problem occuring every week or so untill one day i couldnt even play it anymore

most of the people i tried to play with me on gold could never even install it properly

Comments like: ''Omg they are not mature, all kids there blabla'' is just ridiculous so please don't come with these arguments.

I'd say give it a shot. The sof2 community will increase and who knows.. perhaps many firsters like the demo settings and want to join a demo clan. And maybe someday the settings are balanced and you will be scrimming along side 3rders and 1sters from full. Wouldn't this be nice?

problems with gold; it's WAY WAY WYA deader than demo, has no fp, problems with pb needs orgianalskeys etc (i have a org copy but others?)

I think the best thing we can do is just hosting cups with demo settings and people from demo who would like to participate in this can join, and they (and the others who are not participating) can still play demo.
People can decide for themselves if they want to play full or demo.
Some people will never leave demo, so you can't force them no matter what.
It's good to work together with the full players, increasing our community can only be useful

Plus if demo players see more and more other demo players are playing cups in full, they will probably follow as well.
And like Doc said, moving to gold would be a shame for Shifty / Xillax who worked so hard on this program and we wouldn't use it anymore.
Anyway I think it's time to host a cup as fast as possible with demo settings, we have all seen our opinions in 12 pages, so time to do something?

anyway there's no problem to play demo AND full on demo settings, for example when you can't find war on demo(often lately)
so I personally can do both as I don't play games other than sof2

So far following people have shown interest in organizing this cup Abu, Wacko, Highnesz, Ike and Luminaire
I'd give this main cup admin to Abu(becaue of his experience and big willingness to make this cup) but I feel that all people should be involved as cup admins. So all people interested in contributing like makings stats, informing leaders about games to be played, refing games helping with cup rules/system contact Abu and let's this thing started like lumi said.
