I don't object about removing the hitsounds. But what about people who will keep using the 0795.pk3 WITH the hitsounds. Only PURE servers can prevent people using earlier released mods I guess :(.

Edit: Nvm, FairPlay can .zzz it.

FairPlay can forbid old versions.

well..competitive servers should actually use pure anyways. half of the servers in demo were pure awhile(prolly lumi forcing it on any server he had rcon :lol: ) ago idk why it disappeared

and now even more with the fp+pk3 issue..go pure to be extra safe imo

Pure can be easily circumvented as well, so it doesn't protect you either.

It's fine if you use it to encourage everybody to use the same mod, just don't expect it to stop any cheats.

Alright, I'll remove it completely. Keeping it for public servers only would be pretty bad imo, since the game feels much different with hitsounds. Please let me know if you disagree.

Edit: also, what you said isn't completely true: Quake 3 has hitsounds as well.


I disagree and many will aswell... just stop the whine... it improve aim a bit but change nothing at all... if u know to aim, you kill the guy, otherwise not... thats since 2002... i vote to let it with option menu ON/OFF like that people can choose, that's fair enuff...

is it possible max to reduce the damage of the shotgun? to make it just like it is in gold? or at least for server owners

If you're going to mimic Gold you might as well play that game instead. I don't think the damage should be modified, people have used it for years. Of course server owners can modify it themselves if they like (or I can do it for them on request). You can also modify the RD file, so that you can switch between the two by using the !rd command.

btw i was trying to watch some demo and with the new versions i cant view the scoreboard anymore, with the 0.78 it works for me but now its like unbinded :l should i bind it to F1-12?

Use Tab to view the scoreboard, this was added in version 0.785. The scoreboard also shows how long ago it was updated.

Hi max,
I was curious if there would be possible to add some sounds when you kill someone. I always play sof with music on, so sometimes when I kill cargo guy, then that sound what comes I barely notice. Example few times I had situation where all 8 people shoot (main/case) I was just shooting and I noticed 30 sec after - wow I killed someone.
So is there possible to add some sounds? Example 'godlike' would be awesome :wub: .

Bah exept fugitive and him 2 hackers nobody got this, i asked much peoples all said i didnt knew this type of hack etc.. Its not a bug its just a hack and no i dont want to bust him cuz i never thinked he wh he just played with sounds, but when i see that i'm sure he hack. Idc if hes busted or no if all say no when i see that for me he hack and its not a bug.

Try using teambinds to see who hit you/you hit (#t, #d) + tab + console, tbh its pretty hard to not notice when you kill some1 :P

@ Olks: you can modify these sounds by using your own custom soundpack. I'm not inclined to add these sounds to RPM, since most players want to keep the gameplay as Pure as possible.

Example here. Put it in your RPM folder and it will work. Does't work with FP though, it'll have to be accepted first. Open the file with a zip program to add other files.

if you already limiting maxpackets to higher numbers can you limit it to be AT LEAST in default value? for example if you try settin it to 15 or 20 it'll just not take effect as it is now while settin it over 60.
