Intel hd shares the videomemory with your ram memory. With 4GB of ram your performance would have been alot better, check if you can upgrade it with dell (prolly around 50 euros).

Aren't those external graphics cards only meant to work with specific laptops? Anyway, if you're a DIY person, you can make an eGPU by yourself! http://forum.noteboo...xperiences.html...
I also searched the web for external graphics but didnt find too much. the one ext gpx i found costs around 350 € (donno if its true btw). Now i need help with deciding which way to go - buy an external gpu for 350 that i can carry along whereever i go or have a big pc built for 350 € (the price of external gpx i found) and then eventually give it to pep or someone who wants it once i go home cus im not gonna ship it

This topic is about different kinds of gaming rigs because lately there has been a lot of discussion buying new pc's. If you're planning a new gaming rig, this topic offers some ready-made configurations that can be modified. Also you can discuss your own pc hardware related ideas here. I chose Azerty to be the example site because 99% of demobase speak dutch and Azerty happens to have their prices in euros. I'll update the original post based on feedback, when there's something new on the market and I have the time.
First off I'll give you the glorious SOF2 Gamer 125 FPS rig!
SOF2 Gamer 125 FPS
Motherboard: ASRock H61M-VS
Processor: Intel Pentium G620
Graphics card: XFX Radeon HD 5450
Memory: Kingston ValueRAM DDR3 1333 MHz 1x4GB
Hard drive: Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 250GB
Case: Fractal Design Core 1000
PSU: Corsair Builder Series CX430 V2
DVD: Samsung SH-222AB
Winkelmandje (Shopping Cart)
Cost: ~300€ (No operating system included)
I picked the cheapest sensible parts that would run SOF2 @ stable 125 fps and put them together. Now you can go and half the memory if you wish, but then you'd pretty much save nothing. 4GB of memory is the minimum that a modern PC should have. A case is of course a matter of taste but Fractal Design Core 1000 offers great value for it's price thus it got picked. I wouldn't recommend choosing a cheaper PSU either because most of them are crap and are not protected well enough from causing damage to rest of the computer if something goes wrong. PSU is the most important part of your PC!
You can get a SSD instead of a HDD by sacrificing space which will speed up your pc a lot (doesn't affect FPS!): OCZ Agility 3 60GB
Serious Gamer Non-Overclocker
PSU: XFX Core Edition PRO550W
DVD: Samsung SH-222AB
Case: Fractal Design Define R3
Graphics card: Gigabyte GF 560 Ti 448 cores
HDD: Samsung Spinpoint F3
Memory: Kingston ValueRAM DDR3 2x4GB 1333 MHz
Processor: Intel i5 2400 3.1 GHz
Motherboard: Asrock H61DE/S3
Winkelmandje (Shopping Cart)
Cost: 800€ (No operating system included)
This is a serious gaming rig for non-overclockers that runs any current game. To be realistic, you can't max out details in the heaviest of games but still this one offers a very good performance for it's prize. It features the new 448 cores version of Geforce 560 Ti, 4-core processor and 8GB of RAM. I'd say this rig has a 3-4 year life span gaming-wise if you upgrade the graphics card after the second year.
Serious Gamer Overclocker
PSU: XFX Core Edition PRO550W
DVD: Samsung SH-222AB
Case: Fractal Design Define R3
Graphics card: Gigabyte GF 560 Ti 448 cores
HDD: Samsung Spinpoint F3
Memory: Corsair Vengeance DDR3 2x4GB 1600 MHz
Processor: Intel i5 2500K 3.3 GHz
Motherboard: Asrock Z68 Pro3 Gen3
CPU cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus
Winkelmandje (Shopping Cart)
Cost: 890€ (no os included)
This is the Serious Gamer Overclocker. The Asrock motherboard provides basic overclocking functions for a casual overclocker. i5 2500K is known for it's potential to reach 5 GHz overclock and above. Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus is a great mid-price cooler that satisfies the needs of a casual overclocker. I'd say the life span gaming-wise for this one is 4 to 5 years if you upgrade the graphics card later on.
DB Enthusiast
Case: Antec Performance One P183 V3
Motherboard: ASRock Z68 Pro3 Gen3
Processor: Intel Core i7 2600K 3.4 GHz
Memory: Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600Mhz 4x4 GB
Graphics card: Asus HD7970 DC2
SSD: Samsung 830 Series 120 GB
HDD: Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB
CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-U12P
DVD: Samsung SH-222AB
PSU: Super Flower Golden King Platinum 550W
Winkelmandje (Shopping Cart)
Cost: 1600€ (no os included)
This is the DB Enthusiast. It costs but it also delivers. You can mix it up with Gamer Overclocker to bring the price down if needed. The main differences are better case, graphics card and processor, SSD included, a modular platinum efficiency rate PSU and double the RAM. If it's mainly for gaming, I'd recommend having 2500K instead of 2600K because you won't need Hyper-Threading while playing games.
