Dragon Age 1 is worth a try

but the Dragon Age 2 is shit (stupid story, endless fights - atleast on expert difficulty)

you must be some kind of pro

tbh I play all games on default difficulty; I take pride in not dying once during it; plus if you are some sort of a hero you shouldn't die!

I played Diablo1 with warrior and died once fighting SteelKnights because they surrounded me I was so sad that day.

Doom II was great, DN3D was v.solid but would not crack my list
I also played Blood and Shadow Warrior and while they were solid i wouldn't give more than good grade!

btw I add
Diablo1&2 to my list of great single player adventures; not so much because of the story(because it is very linear and simple), but because of great mood/music/playability

These are the games that popped up into mind (in random order):

- hitman blood money (amazing game, played all the levels on PRO countless times since you can complete them on so many ways)
- assassins creed revelations (best story of all assassins creed games by far)
- skyrim (the game of the year doesn't need a motivation)
- mafia 2 (short but AMAZING gameplay and such a great atmosphere you really feel like your in the 40's and 50's)
- need for speed most wanted (best NFS ever imo)
- gta san andreas (best GTA ever imo)
- dungeon siege 2 (just a simple but a really good rpg; defeat foes do quests and buy better armor/spells )

These aren't in any specific order:

Dune 2 - My first touch on RTS games. I'd still play it but the UI is horrific, you could only move one unit at a time, lol

Doom - I was 6 when I got my hands on it and got my earliest nightmares from it, still playing it from time to time

UFO: Enemy Unknown - Great strategy game with all those interesting aliens, I had barely learned to read when I started playing it

Master Of Orion 2 - A masterpiece space strategy game, nothing better ever came out from that genre

X-COM: Apocalypse - Second sequel for the UFO-series, this time with real-time fights!

Command & Conquer - Our PC could barely handle it but it still ran on our i486DX2-S (P24S) 66 MHz beast with 8 MB memory

MechWarrior 2 - Controlling your own robot destroying other robots with missiles, profit

Megaman 2 - Best console game music, always pleasure to play. Megaman - Dr. Wily theme my ringtone

Rome: Total War - There's just something epic here with wardogs and incendiary pigs

Mass Effect 1 - The main plot is just so good, also loved the Mako when everyone else hated it

Metro 2033 - I had no high expectations when I bought it for 2,5e on Steam but man how I dropped my jaw for it's atmosphere. I also read the book after playing it through. If you play it, say hello to the librarians for me. I hope I'm NEVER going back there.

F.E.A.R. - It's still amazes me how much crap there's flying in the air on tight action

Portal 1 & 2 - Really good games when served with cold beer to relax your nerves. If you don't figure it out right away, it doesn't mean you're a (complete) retard. Keep pushing.

L4D2 - It can be golden and it can be hell with friends, but it always spikes emotion. (oops, only single players allowed)

Dead Space - It always puts a big grin on my face how much shit Isaac has to endure when surviving. Recommended with frequent pauses.

Half Life 2: Episode 2 - Best of the HL2, some really cool moments in that sequel.

Gran Turismo 3 - Just the car game I've enjoyed the most

Eschalon Book 1 - A really good RPG with a good story line, it has a lot of replayability. Eschalon Book 2 is great too but the story worked better for me in EB1.

Alan Wake - One of the best stories ever with a breathtaking environment.

Bastion - Excellent game in every aspect, perhaps my number 1 and it came out just last year so they still make some good games even today!

I'd pick Morrowind over Oblivion & Skyrim, might just be nostalgia though.. The Witcher 2 is one helluva game. Dragon age 1 and 2 are nice. Even though 2 didn't meet the expectations i still enjoyed it and played it through 3 times. The whole mass effect trilogy is good, fuck what they say bout the ending. And ehmmmm that's it for nao

Ye I only have 17 even with AvP1&2 which were only decent excluding the marine campaigns which were great fun imo
I'll hopefully fill the list with some games referred here!

I love C&C games but this one was my least favorite out of ra1, ra2 and cnc2. Too tight with resources, losing even 2-3 soldiers could mean a loss.
