not to mention after 10 years noone would be so dumb to have fuckin 'amex client' written on their hack. also, since its a troll mostly by amex they would know better, seeing how few members have participated in certain aspects of fp development and are very well aware of FS function. like seriously odi, it seems you just hate everyone and want them busted for one thing or another cause its really hard to believe you seriously believe this is a hack

There is nothing we can get banned for, it's a pk3 allowed by fairplay, it's the same as any other mod, it gives you no advantage in any way, infact it ruins your visibility a little with random pointless text on the screen.

Your best argument for legitimising your trolling is "Well, people shouldn't be busted for fp screens anyway". Guess what, if people don't mess with fp screens it's actually a good way for detecting fp bypasses.

If you're so stupid making a fp screenshot with hax, it should be considered hax. This is just an abuse for having a laugh at the "high skill people suspected it all along"-situation that occured.

i dont think these people wouldve reacted the same way, because it seems better players are also bit brighter than lesser skilled players(atleast when it comes to computers) and so they wouldnt fall for it

I suspected it's rather a joke than a real thing, but still I think Sylt made valid point that jokes like that undermine trust in fp. What's done is done but restrain yourself from making this type of jokes in the future. I decided people involved in this won't get banned, since shifty was fully aware of the pk3 and the pk3 didn't give any advantage over other players. I think it's the most fair solution. But be warned that next time there may be cup-ban punishment for similar exploit.

Btw I am only active cheater mod and I don't understand comments like "if person outside of amex/nvm/c4 would do this". First, I've never been in any of these clans. Second I've always been objective here as much as I could so I don't think it's a fair thing to say.

It's a 2kb sized pk3, even if it contained a virus somehow, you would still need to unpack the pk3 so it's safe yes.

Hypothetically you could have used a hack that included more beside (1) the aMeX Client above the weapon and (2) the added 1 in front of the FPS rate. You recreate a pk3 file with just (1) and (2) and tell this was it all along.

Before you continue to form an opinion on what I said re-read the first word of this post.


Anyway... To discuss from the logic I provided in the start of this post, your credibility and therefore also fairplay's credibility is touched, since I will frame the use of fairplay in two ways: (a) A legit use - use fairplay untouched. (B ) An illegitimate use of fairplay - shortly put: you fucked around.

An exception for you to fit category (a) would be if shifty has provided you the ability to use fairplay as it was intended --> He has allowed this pk3-file in his fairplay client for you to use. That way no one can be blamed but shifty for what happened here.

I don't know if this is the case, if it's not and you had to by-pass fairplay in any way you'll fit category (b ). B has to be punished since you're trying to negatively influence the community's rules. Punishment is needed to stabilize the current establishment of rules. And as far as I know the norm here is to keep it that way(stabilized).

So the question is: did shifty allow this pk3 file to be compatible with fairplay or did you have to by-pass the program?
This will tell who is responsible, if it's the first.... nothing to be done... you can only judge shifty, but he can do what ever he wants.. if it's the latter... punishment.

was mentioned above that shifty did accept it and fairplay wasnt bypassed. if u get punished for that u also get punished for using the clientside of rpm.

and i doubt none of the ppl could ever imagine this thing blowing up like this. normally on occasions considering faishots, the bugs n shit are quickly explained and thats it. they just added a small dramatical twist sinnce ppl didnt figure it out. and saying that if it wasnt amex/nvm, one woulda gotten banned is bullshit

As following from my post that would mean no one did anything wrong then(following my provided logic). You can judge shifty of course, but he can do what ever he wants, he has monopoly on anti-cheat... we all want anti-cheat right?
