You could also ask wikipedia, although Demo version (obviously) came out earlier than the full version, but full has been out for over 10 years now, so demo should be close to 11. I started playing about 2 months after demo launched from what I remember, full wasn't out yet I think.

drunkenmaster nr1!!! the things he did on sof. i never saw somebody else doing it.. nowdayz ye u have camham.. wich looks more like a cheater to me if u ask me.. so no there aint no nr1 now..
the times krans played.. he won all the 1o1's .. played very well on wars.. trained allot of peeps.. makin them pro.. and he wuz a pwner on gold also.. shame that he started on drugs.. and left the gamin comunity..

Well, I used to be IRL Friend with Krans (To Azzy: No, he wasn't cheating), but also, krans is a bit overhyped imo, because the guy played with 0.1 sens (for riilz!), he had basically no aim, he camped & glitched a lot and also whined his ass off when he died / lost. I remember one time we were having 1on1 aim fights, and I was slapping him, he said: " STOP MOVING LIKE THAT BECAUSE ITS IMPOSSIBLE TO HIT YOU WHEN YOU MOVE THE SAME WAY I DO" . LOL
Anyhow, in demo the best player? no clue tbh, so many aspects to rate from, teamplay, aim, movement, tactics, etc, also it's easy to "be the best" When you play with the best (c4.), they have played this game 7 years together.
If our friend gang (hpda) had played that long nonstop, I'd say we would be the best ever in this game, but hey, hello.
