Don't you have a flood of middle eastern people coming new to the game?
On full it looks like the africans finally got internet and they are coming in huge numbers to the game. Egypts, Trinidad&Tobego, also Indians, etc.. you name it, we got it. Every week we have to deny lots of them trying to join our clan

who cares, just look at the portal. yesterdays latest post is at the bottom of portal today lol
we don't have 150 players constantly browsing the forums, something special must've happened that day lol, not to mention amount of people playing. if we had 150 active people playing that would give you like 10 clans to play constantly but often it takes hours to get a war lol


and you want to introduce people to demo version of 10+years old game? cause no sane person would start playing 1.00 voluntarily, moving to gold hasn't worked out for us either.

we literally have nothing to offer other than our small cozy community which is the reason why many of us have decided to stick so long, but also is to be blamed for the lack of new players


hell, even cs 1.6 is gettin pushed out of gaming scene and you want to resurrect sof2. mkay

Somebody should make a introducing movie/clip about sof2.

yeah exactly... send all your demos to 2/3 enginners who can make that 4 min movie. but we need ORGANIZED

Try to start a new clan/nations cup after the summer. Mostly, people will be on demobase more often. Same for PCW's.

This topic is 4 years old and back then people were wondering about when sof2 will die. I guess it's pretty
much alive nowadays, especially considering players might have gone for a vacation. There are loads of mapmixes
each evening. It's 1:45 PM and about 1 hour ago, people were mapmixing as well.

To be honest, playing since 2010, I haven't seen any decrease of activeness, only when Demobase TDM was down
or players were on their vacation. + I haven't seen a lot of people quit playing this game permanently.

About warring, each clan/team is responsible for having at least 5 active players (and I'm sure they have that).
A leader might schedule "wartime" for certain days, so the members could be online at that particular time.
Problem of "not having 5" solved.

Out of curiosity.. question to the oldskoolers, what the heck were you guys used to back in the days?

illuminati coming back every once awhile under fake name
5 new cheater topics with 20 pages a day

I think that if blue, fleim and rocket would team up to make the greatest sof2 movie that would attract people, then bunch of people would spread it to wherever they can, we could gain a lot of new people.

And about new people, we should make training clips and shits to noobs(i.e where to nade, when to rush, how to shoot properly etc). Get them a decent cfg and stuff like that. It all is actually doable. I wouldn't mind spending a week or something into business like that. I've been playing this for 7 years now. Could really use some new players.

If you want new faces just go spam the third world.. They can't afford to play battlefield 3. But in all honestly sky you seem motivated even if I don't trust you cuz you just pop up from nowhere every summer :S then you go snowboarding. But I'd say anything is possible. If you guys don't try what you said earlier then of course it won't work. So give it a try: the big sof2 mp test advertising. I'm up to help for the clip if you would need it. I just registered in my film making school (still need to pass the exams). But I think if you want people to come and obviously STAY we gotta change a bit sof. because people won't come and stay in a empty game...

Awesome movie man!

That's the style you need. Though with a couple little tweaks it would be even more awesome for newcomers I think. Like explaining a little bit about the game and what the goal is for example at inf. Also I've seen some movies where they used teamspeak/mumble-records to enhance the feeling of the action and emotion that it brings.
And a little more variation in the maps that are showed would be cool.

It's not worth it. Our dear game is not an eyecatcher at all, every single new player gets pulled in by people who already play sof actively, someone with zero understanding about sof would not enjoy this game and if they would, it would take them months to be at the level most of our community are at. I don't see this working out.

yea lol that's what we talked about on msn Sten
dunno if you remember flair but in 2009-2010 we had 16clans in several consecutive cups...
and there were like about 300+ active competitive sof2 players now there are like 50+ maybe 100 ppl like me sylt, rocket who only play 1-2 times per month or even less.
Some caserun and tdm servers were sometimes full at busy hours, there were still some activity on INF/DM servers too, now there is like 20ppl online most of the time.
Plus then 80% of cupwars got played on schedule, and now people don't even want to play them
And according to Rocket 2009-2010 was still x times smaller than the past (well maybe besides the size if the competitive scene- that according to xillax was more or less same size throughout the years(we talked about 2yrs ago about it) but now competitive scene decreased in size considerably imo
