This moderator team is a week older or so. Things will get better and more clear with time, we did what we could in a short period of time. There's alot of time to fix all the minor details

Everytime you guys decide to make some new fancy cheater rules, it means that all the previous real busts are forgotten, this happens around 3 times a year

Main flaw of previous systems i know of is that you could be busted many times and still have more or less similiar rights to clean players. Unfortunately we can only learn on our mistakes and improve the system with time. This time we give players only 1 chance, I think it's a step forward.

What about godmode, noclip, give me all, etc in clanwar?
think you should make this topic more clear, bringing up the 'minor' hacks (3rd, nearcull, whatsoever, not to forget about bugs - ak scoped, wallglitch, etc.), then the others.

As Ze said we will bring more details with time, this is a framework to build around. We didn't consider scoped ak, wallglitching
because this are not common sitautions you encounter in clanwars or cups. Using no clip, give all, god is clear forfeit situation to me, I'm not sure wheter it should count as cheating.

Hi with other demobase moderators we decided it's time to make a new set of rules for cheaters. Some penalties may look too harsh but on the other hand all players who were caught cheating will still get a chance to "resocialize". Topic made by Yanko convienced me that most of you guys are unsatisfied by lack of clear rules considering hacking and by the fact that cheating isn't punished enough. Here's what we worked out:

BUSTS:

busted in war/public or mix
major hax (wh,ab) - 4months MBL ban, 6months ban from all demobase supported cups
minor hax (mod*,3rd) - 2month MBL ban, 3months ban from all demobase supported cups

busted in a cupwar
major hax (wh,ab) - 8months MBL ban, 12months ban from all demobase supported cups
minor hax (mod,3rd) - 4months MBL ban, 6months ban from all demobase supported cups

* mods are NOT allowed in wars, they are okay to use in public and mixwars(Unless server admins CLEARLY state otherwise)

Busted for the 2nd time = life time ban on MBL and life time ban from all demobase cups

UNSENT DEMOS:

3 unsent demos = 4months MBL ban, 6months ban from all demobase supported cups

1 unsent demo from cupwar = added to players unsent demos PLUS 6months ban from the cups

6 unsent demos = life time ban on MBL and life time ban from all demobase cups
DOCUMENTED SERVER CRASHING

once = 4months MBL ban, 6months ban from all demobase supported cups

twice = life time ban on MBL and life time ban from all demobase cups

FINAL REMARKS:
- If admin want to organize cup via demobase, he use demobase banlist
- Ban period will exclude players from any cup STARTED in that ban period. So if a cup starts during ban period, a player won't be able to compete in it after his ban is over.
- Cheaters caught from september 2008 will be punished with new system.(We had to select some starting date, whatever date we pick some guys who cheated will get lucky some, but we have to start somewhere. All players start with clean account exept from these busted in septemeber 2008.
- Unsent demos list will not be cleared.
- No server crashes from before october 2008 will be counted. Lucky you Butcher.
- Dio and Defqon are kicked immediatly from the cup. Games in which they played are NOT forfeited. Their teams will NOT suffer any penalties. Cup will continue without them.
- It's not sure wheter Asrael will be banned or no, Shifty should reveal some additional information very soon.

so dio cant play in Dnc3 secondary now ?

And then the punishments are just as ridiculous as before, for example dio might have been hacking for the last 4 years, now he finally gets busted for it and he gets a ban of 6 months? Is that fair? I mean guys can happily hack all they want, and IF they get busted (usually they practically need to admit it, since no-one has the guts to actually bust anyone no matter how obvious it is) they'll miss one cup and continue.

Well correct me if I'm wrong but they count the busts starting from september and dio has been busted twice since that date so he gets a permanent ban anyway.

I think also (it's wrong topic to post in, but it must be highlighted I think) these Demobase cups must be runned with the same rules. Else someone like Katana (who wants to start a cup now, I will help him but imagine if he did it alone) can call his cup just 'Demobase INF Open Cup #6' and change rules like 'you can follow the enemy'. Of course many clans won't participate, but it's more clear if we appoint that before, so it won't ruin a Demobase cup. Only cup admins with some experience or permission should host (that's the idea) Demobase cups. Further also a request to Xillax to change the layouts in Cups like I said many times on MSN already, for example in 'Completed Cups' there are 2 subforums:

- DemoBase INF Open Cup #4
- DemoBase INF Cup #5

It's more clear to change both to the same name, I know it's a bit detailed I'm looking, but same counts for xzi's and kapu's new cup, many rules are missing for example that only captains can decide, no password have to been set, no kniferound/rule that says who can begin on what map. I respect they are hosting a cup, but a DemoBase cup should be really something with clear rules. Of course rules can change but at least with many basic rules we know already, I think it would improve the cups a lot. Sorry for the long post, but we are talking only about cheaters, meanwhile other clear rules could also improve the gameplay, especially in cups!

Wallhack(in any form;shownormals, guns only, pk3, etc), aimbot(shiftkey, aimkey, whatever), ballhack, antirecoil, cheats you can use only with sv_cheats 1. That's all I guess ;'D. ****nocurves or smth, basically a wh****
minor hax:
3rdperson, fullbright, lightmap, scoped-ak/m60/you name it, barrelcamp, wallglitch(not posible with fp, but still should be mentioned), fx_nearcull, all the other hash commands(except nocurves, should go for 'major hax' imo.), mods.


Now another question, what about hash r_vertexlight 1?
Noone cared if I used it when I wasn't at fairplay + goldmap wars and whatsoever.
It gives no unfair advantages(IMO) except for higher FPS.
+ Shifty said he would of allowed it at fairplay if it was possible/or if he knew how to remove the hash from this command.

Wanna know my system of cheaters?

1 caught = MBL and Block for all cups for `1 year.
2nd caught = Block for life

1 unsend demo if you wasnt on fp = 6 months block from cups
1 unsend demo on fp = 3 months.

I dont like cheaters and I'm not trying to be nice for them like others do. My point of view is pure punish cheaters for what they do/did/gonna do.
